We will hike through our private grassy trail to our very own floating Pilates deck where we will dive into class; pairing our movement + meditation experience with the sights, sounds, and feels of nature. During this Pilates mat class, we will focus on strengthening and lengthening the physical body from the center out. With an emphasis on moving functionally we will build and layer movements into progressive sequencing that will challenge the physical body as well as keep the mind engaged. Special attention will be given to breath work, deep core activation, fluidity and detail of movement, control of the body, and a strong mind-body connection. Gain a kinesthetic awareness of your body in space that you can take with you off of your mat and throughout the rest of your day. Be prepared to feel stronger, refreshed, and more connected throughout your entire body. Once class is complete, we will continue our hike through the rest of the 20 acre trail.
Andrea is a New York based dancer, teacher, and founder of Bodies and Plants. Her career in dance has led her to become a certified Pilates instructor and movement advocate. Andrea is a firm believer that movement is therapy and can transform lives. She has 600+ hours of comprehensive Pilates training through Center for Movement and Lindafit, as well as a B.A. in dance from DeSales University. She respects the traditional Pilates method, while pulling influence from a more contemporary approach to exercise. Her experience as a dancer has given her insight to a variety of ways to move and train the body. Her passion for movement and knowledge of the body allows her to be intuitive and attentive during a session while staying creative and focused. Balancing the body and mind can benefit everyone.

We will hike through our private grassy trail to our floating Pilates deck overlooking a field of greenery and mountain views. The deck is surrounded by ferns, blueberry bushes, trees, and a clear open sky above. As you lie back on your mat you can watch the clouds and birds pass by and feel the gentle mountain air sweep across your body. The Pilates deck only fits a maximum of 6 mats so you won't feel over crowded or miss out on the view.
