You will spend four hours immersed in the history, the traditions, and the numerous back alleys of Guanajuato, Mexico and see it through a local's eyes. It was founded as a colonial silver mining center, was the site of the first battle of the 1810 Mexican Revolution, and is now a thriving University town with a 3-week annual festival. So there are hundreds of years of stories in these walls and up the pedestrian-only callejones of the hillsides. The tour will traverse the city on foot and visit your choice of two intimate museums along the way, including the boyhood home of Diego Rivera or grand Teatro Juarez. It ends at a rooftop bar or plaza cafe to see the city from a different angle. All admissions and expenses are included.

I am the founder of Guanajuato Street Food Tours, established in 2015, which does day food tours and night bar and tacos tours in this historic UNESCO World Heritage city. I employ five bilingual guides who have been guiding these tours and historic walking tours for years in their home town---my adopted home. We are offering a premium historic tour for those visitors who want a more in-depth, personalized experience that includes several intimate museums and secret spots.

We will meet in front of the Don Quixote Museum, then pass Teatro Cervantes, Teatro Juarez, and the original road leading into the city over the mountains. We'll make our way through the winding city, up to an overlook via a funicular, and down pedestrian-only alleys to the largest market and multiple historic sites. We will go beyond the standard rote attractions and explore the city in depth. Then a deserved rest at the end at a cafe.
