Rio Rancho : les activités les mieux notées

Des activités uniques animées par des experts locaux et reconnues pour leur qualité

  • Explorez la vieille ville, d'hier à aujourd'hui
Our exploration of the Old Town Plaza will begin with coffee, tea and biscochitos on the balcony of our home, looking out over the original town square and historic San Felipe Church. We will overlook history as well, and gaze back from the Tewa people on who’s land Old Town was built, to life on the plaza during the Spanish, Mexican and American colonial periods. Next we will undertake a walking tour of the plaza with a focus on the old adobe architecture and the stories associated with the buildings and smaller placitas that make up Old Town, using historical photos and visuals to support the information. This stroll will include secrets and lore unknown even to most Albuquerque residents, interaction with some of the "old timers" that live and work here, and pointers what to see and do and where to eat, tailored to the needs and interests of each group. Old Town is a valuable community resource and there are frequent impromptu happenings- quinceaneras, vintage car parades, etc. The tour will embrace these spontaneous events as they occur making the visit to Old Town even more vibrant and personal. Finally, at the end of the tour experience, participants have the option of being served lunch at La Placita Dining Room in the Manuel Armijo House, one of the oldest structures on the Plaza, built in 1706. Please contact for custom tour times. Se habla espanol. Other things to note As planned the tour involves one flight of stairs.

  • Immersion dans le désert, déconnectez !
Have you ever noticed that you feel better after being outside? Scientific studies are now showing that time in nature can lower blood pressure, reduce stress, and improve your sleep and creativity. In this guided experience, you will unplug from the stresses of daily life and enjoy spending time in the high desert foothills of Albuquerque. This is not a hard hike and not really a nature walk either. In fact, we may barely cover a mile and it will involve plenty of sitting. This is good for people of all physical abilities, who might be a little hesitant to explore the outdoors on their own or who want to unwind and slowdown. And don’t worry….this is not religiously based, you aren’t required to share any of your thoughts if you don’t want to and there will be no awkward drumming sessions! Instead, we’ll use the sweeping views of the mountains and valley to hone your quiet observation skills, give you some time to de-stress and perhaps you’ll trip over some emotional insights along the way. There will be several segments, each with a different focus, and we’ll end with a cup of coffee in the outdoors. The hope is that you will come away feeling a sense of well-being. **** Since this is an outdoor experience in an area with plenty of open space and we will be arriving in separate vehicles, it is naturally 'socially distant' !! A perfect way to reboot your mind. Other things to note Pit toilets are at the parking lots, but not along the trails. Allow extra time to pay for parking and use the bathroom

  • Randonnées en nature avec un spécialiste de la faune
This experience will include a guided hike into the Rio Grande Bosque area. Treks along the river corridor will give us opportunities for wildlife viewing and a chance to experience this unique ecosystem. With an emphasis on viewing wildlife, identifying wildlife tracks, observing plants and the local geology and hydrology. All with the goal of furthering our appreciation and understanding of this ecosystem and it’s importance to native plants, wildlife and local communities. You will have opportunities for photographs at stunning vistas. I will be equipped with local field guides, binoculars, and other field equipment. We will check game cameras set in the field to observe recent wildlife activity. Coffee or tea will be provided at a beautiful observation point long the trail. Hikes will typically last 2-3hours. Additional viewing of the iconic Sandia Mountains as they turn a beautiful pink at sunset is also possible. Albuquerque is famous for its sunsets and the "pink moment" just before sunset on the Sandia Mountains. Being at the right place at the right time is critical for capturing this moment in all its splendor. We can end the day with a salute to the mountains and river and watch the sunset, reflecting on our experience that day. Join me in an adventure found only here in New Mexico, at the edge of our city in the heart of the wilderness. Other things to note Anyone can come. Treks are picked to suit your abilities and interests and children are encouraged to come. To insure the best experience be ready for several hours spent outside. Proper attire is important, consider the day’s weather and be prepared for moderate hiking.
