It is the same, than the other Homestay, but we have around 10 rooms. Often one room with Airbnb is booked and than everything is blocked. for this we made here number 2. Everything is the same, than at the other one´s. You can make the booking here.
At the one side we have a Batak farm runned by our mom at the other side we built a Guesthouse with a terrace Restaurant at our 500 year old Mango Forest. We invite you to our activities, like making Mango wine, Farming, etc or you enjoy the lake.

Le logement
We have 9 rooms in our guest house - a closed loft, a large room in the common area, rooms in the older house and some rooms with lake view. And two rooms that can be connected. Especially for families. These also have a small private toilet. Our simple, clean rooms have double beds, and all have windows overlooking the garden or the lake. Common areas include a beautiful large terrace with lake views, dining areas, a cozy private beach and the mango forest.

We take care of the Covid 19 virus. We still can provide safe food and stay. You can look at our webpage (the name of our village) where we have all the information, how we go around with it.

EAT
We have an organic plantation that offers a wide variety of food. We prepare delicious and healthy meals and drinks for you (a mix of Western and Indonesian / Batak, tea, coffee and fruit / juices). We cook together and teach guests about traditional local methods and ingredients. We are very proud of our fusion pizza with Andaliman pepper, which has become popular around Lake Toba.
Breakfast is included in the room rate and lunch / dinner (and all-day snacks) cost 60,000 IDR / person (120,000 IDR for lunch and dinner). Also juices, coffee, tea, spring water throughout the day are included.

PARTICIPATION / ACTIVITIES
If you wish, we would like to involve you in the daily life on the farm (depending on the duration of your stay, the season, the garden and other factors):

-Production of mango, vinegar and jam (some products grow all year round, others are harvested 1-2 times a year in January and July)
- Harvest and roast coffee and cocoa (at least 2-3 days)
- Chocolate production from beans to bars. We have a wet mill for it. Minimum stay for these 3 nights.
- Processing of Kui Kui (candlenut) oil
- We have the first pizza sauna in the world. We have built a sauna cabin on our wood stove. Every Friday we have a PizzaSauna night.
graviola leaf tea production
- Plant or maintain a cocoa, mango or coffee tree
- Help us in the kitchen to learn how to cook, share recipes
- Swim in the lake, visit the buffalo, hike, take a canoe, go fishing
- Rent a boat to circle around Samosir (you can sleep on the boat), rent a scooter to explore the island (traditional Batak villages, stone carvings, waterfalls, breathtaking views) or hire a guide for an island tour or a hike
- We can organize a fish barbeque and you can attend a traditional party nearby

WHAT YOU CAN EXPERIENCE IN OUR GARDEN
In addition to mango, we grow cocoa, coffee, coconut, avocado, durian, sour soup, jackfruit, guava, passion fruit, strawberries, tapioca, onions, eggplant, zucchini, lettuce, sweet potatoes, mushrooms, lemongrass, citronella, cinnamon, ginger. Thallas, cloves and other herbs. We also have water buffalo, pigs, ducks, chickens, dogs, cats and we fish lobster, tilapia and catfish.

PROJECTS / VOLUNTARY
If you would like to get involved for a work stay of 2 weeks or more, we offer volunteer programs. If you are interested, please send us a message. We look forward to receiving suggestions for contributing to our community.
Project ideas:
Construction of a bamboo tree house in the mango forest
Help to build a sauna on our wood stove
-Gartenarbeit.

Our place is remote and by no means easy to reach. Only at 10 and 13 clock drives a direct boat to us. Just search the internet. In Wikitravel you will find your way to us if you are looking for Samosir Island. Or just ask Google Maps. They also know us.

Accès des voyageurs
Guests can use ALL public areas. The kitchen, the garden, the beach, the canoes, the forest, the lake, the terrace ...

Autres remarques
It is more a farm and not a perfect Guesthouse. We want to make our Guest happy and we want to show our culture. You can take place in all if you want.

We like some Western things, but we don´t have toilet paper, because we want to clean us with water and this makes more clean than paper. You can try it. It is easy. Later you will miss the water, of you sit on a western toilet and you don' t feel clean anymore.

Also this pulp industries, they produce the Toilet paper cut down all the forest around Lake Toba. We don't want to support this. If you still need it, just bring it your self from the Mainland.

Our property is located directly on the beach. Behind it is the Mangoforst. The one road that ends in Silimalombu leads to Tomok (12 km), where you can walk well, ride a bike or ride a motorcycle. You can enjoy a walk through the rice fields and sit down somewhere to have a coffee or a tuak (palm wine directly from the tree) in the afternoon.

You can only buy soft drinks and cigarettes in the neighborhood. The nearest shop is then 2 km away.
It is a small Batak village at the beach of Lake Toba. It is quiet here. It is a place to relax or to take place in our aktivities. We can make excursions around Lake Toba and especially to the hot springs in Pangururan.

The village Silimalombu was founded by Ratnas Grandfather, the king of Silimalombu 150 years ago. He settled down here, because there where a lot of strong old Mango trees. Nobody planted them. They are nature. A lot of the trees will be now 300 to 500 years old.

I am born in our old house in Silimalombu. I grown up here and I started 2008 to create a Ecovillage here. Still it is the beginning. But out of my initiative already the village is clean and the most families have a small garden here. But still it is a lot to do. Already we created now the guesthouse, we make wine, Graviola Teas, Solarpower, LED lamps, planting a lot of fruits and trees. At beginning of 2017 the whole clan now made the decision to create a foundation to create the Ecovillage Silimalombu. We now go there to create it. Each guest who come, give us the possibility to create more and more. My dream is, that the world is getting a paradise again. We want to start with this in Silimalombu, than whole Samosir, Lake Toba area, Indonesia and the rest of the world. We want, that everything what grows, everybody can eat. We started planting......
