Sorry Nathan, When you live on the high plains desert you suffer through some interesting natural events during the year. Wasp season is one of those, some years are worse then others like this one. Your a good sport thanks for coming. Bill Trainor

Bill’s ranch is very secluded and a great experience! We really enjoyed hanging out with the cows, watching the sunset, and seeing the stars at night. The house was clean, with ample room for 2 couples and a child. The only issue we had was with finding many half-dead wasps on the floor (probably seasonal) that blend into the flooring. Make sure you wear shoes so as to not get stung!

This is a wonderful place to stay! The ranch is in a beautiful spot with great views of the plains surrounding it. It is definately the place to stay if you like a bit of piece and quiet and offers a rare opportunity to see what life is like on a ranch in eastern Colorado. The accommodation itself is clean, comfortable and has everything you might need. Great place all round while William is a kind and welcoming host.

This place is amazing! We want to do this again. I wish we had more time there is so much to explore. The view is so beautiful. There are 4 dogs that meet you at the gate and will go on walks with you through the ranch. I really can't put into words how amazing this place is. I would strong tell you to rent this place I promise you wont be sorry!!

We found William's place at the last minute and he was able to accommodate us and our two spoiled dogs with less than 24 hour notice! He did not charge a huge pet fee or cleaning fee which made our stay cheaper than a hotel or motel! We loved exploring the property. The fire pit came in handy when it cooled off last night and the tumbleweeds made perfect kindling! Easiest fire I have ever started! The sunrise and sunset were like nothing I have ever experienced and more stars than I could've imagined!! We hope to return soon.

The Bunkhouse was a super unique place to stay. Bill has four nice dogs on the property that got along fine with ours. Be sure to take plenty of water and groceries with you. We used the fire pit often, that was a nice touch for being outside in the vast country side.

My friends and I had a lovely stay at Trainor Ranch. Plenty of interior space, beautiful prairie, friendly (and very well trained!) dogs that can come over to socialize but will leave you be if you need them to. Wished we'd gotten a chance to use the fire pit! The stars and Milky Way are unbelievable at night. Took us a little while to figure out how to get there-- if you're coming from the north, make sure you're on County Road T in the right county! And keep an eye on your fuel gauge. A lovely corner of rurality.

I am a 70 year old cattle rancher and a practicing Colorado CPA. I was raised on the family ranch. The ranch is 7,000 acres on Horse Creek ten miles north of Ordway Colorado. It was established by my great grandfather an Irish Canadian in 1895. I have lived and worked in the city but always found peace on the high plains of Southeast Colorado. I have a classical Jesuit education and am a lifetime learner. I like philosophy, history, genealogy and psychology. I like to travel and experience other cultures. I have traveled to Canada, Mexico, Ireland, England, Scotland and China so far. I was also in the bar and restaurant business for 14 years and enjoyed the hospitality business. I am looking forward to meeting and sharing my peace of heaven with people from many places and cultures. I think you will find a well-kept secret in the beauty and peace of the prairie.
