Our place is close to the city - only 20 mins by train and the cheapest fair (zone 1). Close to shopping and Preston market (one of the best places to buy fresh produce in Melbourne, great coffee too). Loads of great places to eat on High street including Dexter's. You’ll love our place because of the its great open spaces and everything you would ever need is in walking distance. Our place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, families (with kids), and big groups.

We hope you feel relaxed and treat our house as if you were in your own home and respect the below the house rules. Some might sound redundant, but we hope you understand every rule listed is in response to an issue encountered with a previous reservation.

Please throw away all perishable foods. Milk, open packet and fresh food must not be left in the fridge or cupboards.

With constant guests the garbage bins fill quickly and change over doesn't always allow us to put them out. As such guests are required to place the bins out every Tuesday night. General waste is every week. Recycling is every first and third week of the month. You can tell it's recycling as other properties will have yellow top bins out as well. Bins go out the garage door and are collected on Eastwood Avenue.

Guests are required to turn off all lights, fans, heating and cooling when they check out.

If you need to contact us the best way is through the AirBNB application. This notifies both of us and is your best chance of getting a quick reply. If you feel the need to call, get no answer and do not leave message we will not reply. We are both professionals who receive a number of calls daily and will not recognise your number. Contacting us late at night or in the very early morning means you may not get a reply until approximately 7am the following morning.

In case of emergency contact 000 and ask for Fire, Ambulance or Police. We live too far away to do anything but do the same.

Persons checking in after 9pm do so at their own risk. Access to the property is through a lock box that holds the keys to the front and back door. We leave very detailed instructions on how to operate the lock and your personal code via the message box once the place is ready. the mechaninsim is extreamly simple to figure out. Airbnb will not let us link a url to this text, but it is a masterlock model 5401D. We advise all guests to make thenselves familure with its operation prior to check in.

If this seems like too much to figure out and you still want to check in after a red eye flight, or you don't immediately have an Australian mobile phone number, the risk of not being able to access the place until you can contact us is yours.

Guests MUST leave the keys in the lock box when checking out. This one anoys us the most as it means a 1.5 hour drive to let the cleaners in if you don't.

Great accommodation, very generous size wise, walking distance to restaurants and public transport. 20 minutes from airport, 15 minutes drive to the city. Great to also have the secure off street parking which was a bonus. Communication was great and happy to help, couldn't ask for more than that.

Enjoyed our stay at Drew and Renee's place. Ideal location for us as we needed to be based in North Melbourne - close to various major roads for driving, several public transport options, if needed, shops and food. And Thornbury is just down the road. Drew and Renee were lovely to deal with. Many thanks!

The houses location, size and value for money is great. However it needs a good clean, the surfaces were all dirty and appeared they hadn't been cleaned in a long time. The bath towels and linen had to be washed and the linen was so old you could see through it.

Great location! Just a few minute walk to train station, Preston market and supermarkets. Spacious living room - it's good for family! The 3 bathrooms for a 2-bedroom house was very generous. Thank you so much Drew and Renee for the early check-in time. That was greatly appreciated! :)

We are a young professional couple whose work currently requires us to work away from home. We enjoy coffee and living in Preston.
We love to travel, cooking and Drew likes to fish (Renee can't handle squirming worms).

Our life motto would be "110 % in whatever direction we are traveling "
