We were greated by Sergio's sister Olga in Sergio's absence, who met us at the appartment on arrival, showed us the apartment and made us feel welcome. Sergio had left an array of welcome gifts (biscuits, beer, wine, crisps) which were a nice touch. Sergio' appartment was spacious with good amenities and a great view from the lounge balcony over the beach to the sea.
We had all we needed to self cater and eat out near to the apartment. The night noise was more at the weekend but fairly quiet during the week.
As my daughter tired from exploring Castelldefels and Barcelona, we were glad to relax with netflix choice of movies before the adults turned into bed, and use the wi-fi to look up information for the next day's travel, exploring and booking tickets.
We caught the bus and train into Barcelona on different days. The bus route we took may have been a longer one, but it was good to see the local area. The train, a further walk away along the promenade was quicker but not as close to the apartment. We used the T10 ticket for both bus and train into Barcelona and back.
The pool in the apartment was an added bonus and kept clean.
The apartment itself had plenty of bars serving food on the doorstep and cafes and restaurants nearby. We had a particularly good tapas and sangria at Chalo, where the staff worked hard to make us feel welcome and relaxed.
We made the most of being tourists and did 3 days solid sight-seeing in Barcelona, avoiding any political demonstrations as they debate independence; we saw plenty of banners and flags but felt safe the whole time.
We would have liked more time to explore the local beach and relax but maybe we will return again.
Despite best attempts to book a taxi ourselves to get back to the airport, we couldn't be understood, so Sergio kindly booked one for us.
We didn't need to communicate a huge amount with Sergio as everything worked well, but when we did, Sergio was very quick to respond.
It was a lovely short break of 5 nights. Thank you Sergio.
