Le logement
Covid 19 update: If local regulations change and we have to cancel your booking we will ensure you get a refund. We have to set a 4 night minimum during this time because we are leaving 53 hours between bookings for extra-safe cleaning practices. We can provide delicious, healthy room-service meals (£5 breakfast/lunch, £8 dinner, £2 dessert, everything home made, to suit all diets.)
The fantastic local Pubs are setting up really nice out-door dining areas. There are great Take-Aways in Ystradgynlais.
There will be a choice of teas, good coffee, fruit and nuts for you in cabin.
You are welcome to do your own picnic-style food and there is a simple cooler box, Tupperware, plates and utensils here for you. But no hot cooking is possible.

We are very careful about distancing, using masks and hygiene and ask our guests to do the same at all times. We want you to be able to relax and feel safe.xx

Our little cabin used to house a pony and we've been playing with it for a few years to make an easy, relaxing, refreshing hide-away. Where ever possible we have used up-cycled things or made them ourselves. We want it to be a real change from home. See our Photos with detailed captions for the clearest impression (might not be fully view-able on phones.)
We respect our guests privacy very much and do our best to leave you in peace and solitude. We only come to the cabin if we have concerns about noise or smoke! So you can loose your self a little in a safe, secure environment.

Everyone is welcome from any age or walk of life. We are always delighted to have visitors from anywhere in the world. Children always love it.

There are two very comfy single beds (one pulls out from under the other), free private super-fast Wifi, electricity, all bedding, cutlery/plates/cooler/kettle ect for your own picnics.

There is a small choice of games and books and leaflets from local attractions.

We aim for you to have a relaxing, peaceful, refreshing experience close to the elements, in cosy, informal comfort and security.
We are in a Dark Skies Area which is fantastic so we keep lighting low. It gets beautifully dark here even though we are right on a quiet residential street.

There are lots of very active bird feeders and the sculpture garden aims to attract and support as much wild-life of all sorts as possible. No creatures are excluded or harmed.

There are extra blankets and thick duvets for the cold weather that can arrive suddenly here. Bring warm clothes. The electric convector heater should not be left on when you sleep, if the door is open or when you are out. But it will warm the space quickly. Osprey Studios has signed up to the Welsh Sustainable Business Charter and we aim to reduce waste and all fuel use where ever possible. There are recycling bins for you as well as a small garbage bin.

There is a good sized fold-out table to spread out your work or meals.

Outside, part of your patio is covered so you have shade and shelter, fresh herbs are growing for you to use in teas or your food, there's a table and chairs, a sink with running drinking water, lively bird feeders, visiting, friendly horses and cats, and a stunning, enchanting view.

Your area is surrounded by planting so you have some seclusion and can loose yourself in the gentle atmosphere.

Our cabin is small, simple and it's NOT posh!! It's tranquil, relaxing and cosy.

Sleep with the stable door open or bundle up in bed with the super-warm duvets and soft blankets on a stormy autumn night.

We're not fussy about a mess and mud either, so don't worry about coming back off the mountain filthy! Our place is all about getting involved in the natural world and there is a great, varied choice of walks right from the cabin.

Pets are very welcome. Of course they can not be left alone in the Cabin under any circumstances. The great local pubs are dog friendly.

The shower and toilet are across the garden towards the house. There is low lighting but it does get wonderfully dark. The shower has fantastic pressure and endless hot water. There is no heating in this very small, simple room. The small sink and relief floor are custom-made here at the Studio. There is shampoo, soap and conditioner and an extra towel. Big towels and flannels are in the cabin for you. There are hooks for your clothes.

For the same reasons, no smoking or cooking are permitted in the cabin. Smoking on the patio is fine.

The cabin is a peaceful and quiet space to rest, paint and work.

Accès des voyageurs
You'll have full private access to the cabin and the adjacent patio and an outhouse with a toilet and a shower with great pressure and endless hot water which is across the sculpture garden.
The space is dog friendly, though due to the artwork and our studio and foster cats, dogs need to be kept on a leash while in the garden and supervised at all times while in the cabin or on your patio. Pets can never be left alone here.

Autres remarques
Covid19:
Meals: Dinner (£8 each, dessert £2.00), Breakfast or Lunch (including packed lunches £5 ) on request. All our food is freshly prepared whenever possible including homemade bread, jam, chutney, cakes, cookies and fruit from the garden in the summer and eggs from our neighbors. Everything is vegetarian and we are happy to accommodate all types of diet.

Covid19: Workshops can be held out-side, weather permitting. Ceramics expert Rebecca Buck offers beginner and masterclass workshops in a wide range of hand-building and sculptural skills. Tuition is £30 per hour for up to 4 people.
All the sculpture in the garden and display room is for sale.
Visit the studio website, (we can't put links here: Rebecca Buck, Osprey Studios) for lots of information including links about this lovely area and the many wonderful things to do here.

The Brecon Beacons is one of the UK's few Dark Skies Reserves and we keep it dark here so you can enjoy the beautiful sky.

We are delighted to say that the Sculpture Garden has been selected for the National Garden Scheme and 2020 will be the first summer that we hope we will be open to their visitors by appointment to raise money for various Charities.

Our dog is very friendly and loves meeting new people although he may bark briefly at our front door. As a RSPCA rescue he does get very nervous and your kindness to him will mean a lot.

This whole place is for wildlife, every critter is welcome no matter how annoying they are!

Quiet, safe, friendly, family oriented, residential neighbourhood. There is a useful Spar shop and 3 award-winning pubs with great food within walking distance, The Penycae Inn, The Ancient Briton and The Abercrave Inn. (The Pubs will most likely be closed for Covid19. The Ancient Briton has a fab Cafe with great food and out-door seating.) you would be advised to book meals with them on weekends.) Variety of lovely walks right out of the cabin.

Check-in is 5-7 or other times by arrangement only. We are especially happy to be helpful from 5am to 7pm but later than 7pm is difficult for us.
We'll be on site most of the time and on call by phone/text all the time and we're happy to point you in the direction of our favourite local businesses and sightseeing spots.

Do know that the studio and the surrounding neighborhood is usually very quiet, so if you are coming and going or sitting outside keep the noise right down and use headphones on all devices. Ynyswen is a lovely, very quiet, small collection of residential streets in. We have the best neighbors and don't ever want to disturb them in any way. It is very unusual to hear a peep from any of them!
