This is one of three apartments we have listed in a secure mid-century 8 unit brick building. They offer abundant natural light with an updated kitchen and bath. We have furnished the home with comfort and convenience in mind. For quick answers to FAQ please read through our ad.
We stay in the apartments from time to time. We find them to be very peaceful and comfortable. A real home away from home. We have taken care to decorate and furnish them to be comfortable and inviting, but are always making changes and improvements based upon guest feedback.

We will provide you with a 4 digit code that we will provide the morning of your arrival. It will open both exterior doors and your apartment (no keys to keep track of or worry about returning). We have free parking behind the building, easily enough for 2 cars per apartment. There is a coin operated washer and dryer in the building. We have storage lockers that are usually available for extended stay guests.

We will send check-in information and let our guests enjoy the space and to come and go at their leisure. We (or one of our friends if we happen to be out of town) are always available if you need anything or have questions. Is the apartment available for a certain date?
If you filter your search for the dates you need and our apartment pops up it is available. If you are browsing without a date filter you can use the "check availability" button and it will show you a calendar with the open dates.
Can we check in early?
We will accommodate an early checkin to the best of our ability. It all depends on whether or not we have a guest the night before you arrive and when they check out. Do to these unknowns we won't know if or when we can allow an early checkin until the night before or the day of your checkin. If you need the apt before the 4:00 pm checkin let us know and we will do our best to have it ready asap and text you as soon as it's ready. If you absolutely have to have the apartment before 4:00 pm the safest bet is to book an extra day
Can we check-out late?
Generally no. We plan on being there to get the apartment ready right at noon. Whoever, if you have extenuating circumstances let us know and we will do our best to accommodate you. If you need accommodations past 1:00 you may need to consider booking another night.
How far is it to (anywhere)?
Airbnb includes a map that shows the one block radius our building is in (Airbnb blocks the exact address and location until after you book for security reasons). We also have included a list of distances to common destinations in our photos. The building is centrally located less then a mile from the expressway and In general you can be anywhere in the Lansing area in 10-15 by car.
Is it a safe neighborhood?
Crime statistics are hard to come by on a neighborhood by neighborhood basis. Lansing is a mid sized city with the typical diverse demographic you would find in a downtown area. While we do not reside in the building we do stay there on on a regular basis and are in and out several times a week and often everyday and neither of us have had a concern for our safety. As anywhere you should use prudence and be aware of your surroundings.
Will you negotiate your rate?
No. We do offer a 10% discount for continuous stays of 30 days or more, the discount will automatically be applied when you reserve a stay of that length. Our focus is to provide the best housing experience for our guest. To that end we price our units fairly so we have the funds necessary for cleaning, up keep, and on going improvements to the building and apartments, taking into consideration the other housing options available in the area and current demand. Giving random discounts would be confusing and unfair to our other guests. We (and our past guest) feel that our apartments are a great value at the listed price.
Can we just pay you directly?
No. It would violate our relationship with Airbnb. We feel they provide there service in good faith and provide protection to to both us as host and you as guest in the unlikely event of a problem or disagreement. Please make your reservation using the Airbnb web site.
No smoking,no pets please clean up any spills. You will be charged if there are any permanent stains. Please remove shoes inside apartment, this helps protect floors and reduces noise for the downstairs neighbors. Be sure to let us know anything we can do to make your stay more comfortable. Please respect that we try to maintain a quiet building, pay particular attention to this between 10 pm and 7 am. Check in is 4 pm and checkout is 12 pm.
Leigh and I have been landlords in Lansing for over 20 years. We discovered Airbnb and loved the concept and sense of community it brings about compared to traditional hotels, so we decided to try our hand at hosting. We take a lot of pride in our property and our furnished Airbnb apartment. We hope it shows and we are always looking for ways to improve our guest experience and comfort.
Leigh is an avid runner having completed several full marathons and countless half marathons and other races. We both are avid kayakers in sea kayaks and white water. We enjoy meeting new people especially from different places and backgrounds. We have two awesome daughters in college so we use our newly gained freedom to pursue our interests and travel as much as we can, staying in an Airbnb whenever possible of course.

I am a self employed carpenter/building contractor. In the past I did a lot of traveling doing trim carpentry for new commercial buildings, Applebee's, Outback, Arby's, and a couple of hotels. Those were hectic times so now I mostly do work in my area for homeowners or other contractors I know. I also do the renovation and maintenance on our rental properties (36 units in all) where I try and bring a level of quality and professionalism often lacking in the rental housing business.
For the future we would love to furnish more apartments as Airbnbs and continue our exploration of the rest of the world by land and by sea.
