Le logement
Although travel has changed significantly in the past 6 months, we remain nimble in our response by keeping up with the latest recommendations. We have remained safely open throughout the Covid crisis in order to provide guests an opportunity to escape from home and enjoy reconnecting with nature. As health care providers, Becky and I, as well as our team, pay particular attention to enhanced cleaning practices endorsed by the CDC, airbnb and Safe Stay-USA. We not only want you to have a wonderful time enjoying your lake stay, but also want to keep you and your family as well as our team safe and healthy as we negotiate through this Covid crisis.

The Lodge is a spectacular cabin on the best lake in Lake Country. The Lake remains clear throughout the summer, has great fishing, a beach and you get access to the quieter North Pipe Lake as well as the fully recreational Pipe Lake giving you two lakes for the price of one!

The Lodge has an open floor plan with vaulted ceilings in the great room, yet remains a warm and inviting home away from home. The great room has access to the main deck and a smaller deck off the master bedroom. Floor to ceiling windows line three walls of the great room looking out onto the lake, making this space perfect for wild life viewing and watching the gorgeous sunsets. A soaring field stone, see through fireplace and a baby grand piano make this room so inviting it will be hard to leave! A fully equipped kitchen, with Sub Zero/Dacor appliances, is a cook's dream. A six burner stove with a built in grill and double oven allows for easy, large meal preparation. The over sized fridge is perfect for large gatherings. The kitchen and connected expansive dining room also have floor to ceiling windows overlooking the lake. The dining room shares the see through fireplace and is perfect for chilly nights and long board game tournaments. However, throughout the spring, summer and fall, the protected western exposure of the main deck allows comfortable outdoor dining.

Bedrooms
The master bedroom, with a window wall overlooking the lake, has a private entrance to one of the three decks. Little ones can share a room right off the master suite if they need to be closer to mom and dad. A large master bath with a soaking tub and separate shower makes this a true master retreat. Need some time away from the kids? This home is the perfect place - a fully insulated walkout level allows kids to have their own space yet close off their bedrooms should they need some privacy too. A separate "parent" bedroom in the walkout level allows a second set of parents to be on that level too. Windows and patio doors allow a spectacular view of the lake even for the kids. There is a wet bar and full bath in the walk out level making this a great home for two families to share.

Outdoor Spaces
The yard is shaded with a combination of white and red pine as well as beautiful hard wood trees including maples and oaks. Fall colors are spectacular and memories are made around the large fire pit as you roast hot dogs and eat those tasty s'mores. Take a short stroll down the steps to the lake where a large, newer pontoon is available for rent for those sunset cruises. Afternoons are spent fishing on this walleye/bass/pan fish lake, swimming, water skiing, canoeing, kayaking or just floating in the lake. Perhaps you just want to curl up with a good book on the front screened porch to enjoy the fresh air. Later you might use the porch for a late night chat or card game should the weather not be agreeable. The kitchen and dining room exit onto the huge deck made for entertaining with a large grill and easy access to the built in hot tub. The third lower deck has a hot tub that overlooks the lake and seats eight and provides a special view of a sky without light pollution. We dare you to try to count the stars!

Autres remarques
The home is on a quiet premier swimming and fishing lake that stays clean throughout the summer. There are neighbors, but you won't see them through the thick woods in the summer. We are near Cumberland in an area of multiple scenic lakes and rivers and near four major state parks and forest land. There is a public boat access and a grassy beach on Pipe Lake which is connected to the fully recreational North Pipe Lake, giving our guests access to two wonderful lakes! Lakes with sandy beaches/playgrounds/picnic shelters within 15-20 minutes include Shell Lake, Rice Lake, Balsam Lake and Beaver Dam Lake in Cumberland. There are many great recreational and fishing lakes and streams nearby as well as smaller quieter lakes for canoeing/kayaking. There are plenty of biking and hiking trails nearby and ATV/snowmobile trailhead is within walking distance to property. Turtle Lake, Barron, Cumberland and Rice Lake all have shopping, good restaurants and pretty city parks. There are several supper clubs in the area (a must do) and the Turtle Lake casino is 12 miles away. Trollhaugen ski resort is 20 minutes away, there are 3 excellent golf courses in the area. For a fun day, float down the Apple River or kayak on the Namekagon near Trego. This area has almost weekly festivals and gatherings. Spend a day or two in Hayward to enjoy the Lumberjack festival in the summer or the American Birkebeiner (or Birkie) the longest and largest cross country ski race in the US in the winter. See the great ore boats and the gorgeous scenery in Duluth, about 90 minutes away. This area is vacation central!

The Lodge is situated on one of the most desirable lakes in the area. The cabin is on smaller North Pipe Lake which is connected to the larger and fully recreational Pipe Lake. Both are great fishing lakes, the water stays clear throughout the season and Pipe has a nice swimming beach. The area is heavily wooded and has that true "up north" feeling.
