Le logement
The suite occupies the ground floor of a two-storey house (I live upstairs) and comprises two interconnected sitting rooms (one with dining table), kitchenette, queen bedroom, and bathroom with shower, toilet and heated towel rack. Towels, soap, shampoo and conditioner etc supplied.
One of the sitting rooms has a smart TV with free streaming channels plus Netflix and Prime; DVD player and library of DVDs and books, a 3 seat leather sofa, dining table, coffee table and floor lamp. The other has a 3 seat leather sofa, coffee table, floor lamp and set of drawers. A ceiling fan keeps the space pleasantly cool in summer, while central gas heating, double glazing and thermal-lined curtains ensure winter comfort. The large windows and sliding door provide plenty of natural light as well as views of the garden and beyond.

The kitchenette is well equipped with a standard size fridge, single plate induction cooktop, microwave oven, electric frypan, blender, rice cooker, slow cooker, electric kettle, toaster, stainless steel saucepans, large steamer/boiler, full set of kitchen knives and utensils, storage containers, glassware and mugs, cutlery and dining setting for 4+, coffee grinder, coffee plunger, coffee beans, instant coffee, leaf tea, tea bags and various teapots.

The bedroom includes a queen bed with a quality inner-spring mattress, bedside tables and lamps + bright reading lamp, a set of drawers and built-in wardrobe with plenty of hanging space and extra blankets. An iron and ironing board are also provided.

Accès des voyageurs
The entire suite is reserved for guests only. It has its own separate entrance and is set in an established garden with an outdoor table and seating, all for the exclusive use of guests. The garden is situated in a tranquil glen with views of large mature trees, tree ferns, sedges and plantings of various native species attractive to birds.

Please note: access to the apartment is via 32 steps divided into 5 flights, each with its own landing. Any person with an average level of fitness should have no problem with coming and going. None of my more than 200 guests , from teens to seniors,
has been prevented from accessing the apartment due to the steps. Those with physical limitations such as joint problems should be warned that physical access may be difficult.

Autres remarques
Infants under 2 years are most welcome. Please note a high chair and baby bath are provided, but bedding for the infant, a cot and playpen are not. Guests are welcome to bring these items. A washing machine and dryer are available free of charge.

Blackheath, Nouvelle Galles du Sud, Australie

The immediate vicinity is a quiet, secluded glen surrounded by trees. It is close to bushwalks as well as extensive views from Govetts Leap and other lookouts.

The original inhabitants of the Blue Mountains were the Dharug and Gundungurra tribes. Archaeological discoveries at Walls Cave in Blackheath indicate Aboriginal activity going back at least 12000 years.

Blackheath (height 1000 metres above sea level; population 4,500) was named by Governor Macquarie in 1815. It is one of Australia's oldest tourist destinations, fondly described as "the pick of the Mountains" for its village atmosphere, beguiling climate, magnificent views and walks, community spirit and a long tradition of hospitality. Charles Darwin stayed here in 1836, and on the way to Bathurst saw his first platypus.

I am a retired businessman who grew up in Sydney and moved to Blackheath in 2000. I'm a keen photographer, enjoy bushwalking, gardening, reading, movies and looking at art. I've visited many cities, Instanbul being the most memorable. I appreciate the importance of feeling welcomed as a guest and want to make your visit as enjoyable as possible.
