PLEASE NOTE:

To review for the first time Airbnb guest as well as for the seasoned Airbnb traveler:

• Homeowner lives in home and will be here during your stay.
• One bathroom, shared bathroom with homeowner.
• Home is older in appearance on outside-1940’s bungalow where inside there has been an update of fixtures and painting, etc. but still have original floors that have character squeaking.
• No separate entry to house.
• Bedrooms are separated by one bathroom and a short 8 foot hallway.
• Entry to guest room is through living and dining room which are shared spaces. Guest is welcome to visit shared spaces during your stay.
• Shared space for this listing is living and dining room – while there is no formal definition of shared space from Airbnb website - for this listing it will be defined as the normal lived-in feel and appearance of a typical home.
• Kitchen is not considered a shared space but guests can use for light use prep and storage, although guest room does have a mini-fridge and is adequate for most use. Just note that kitchen is in use daily by home owner and reflects daily use. For those staying longer, you will have full kitchen and washer, dryer use.
• No other guests in room.
• No alcohol or other substances in room.
• A Norwegian elkhound puppy, two and a half years old lives in the home.
• Very friendly and cuddly puppy. Upon arrival he will be very excited for a few minutes and then calms down.
• A double-coated breed, Grayson sheds. I vacuum consistently, but stray tufts will be most likely appear despite constant efforts, in the living and dining room on the way to the guest room.
• The guest room is off-limits to the puppy.
• Grayson is crated appropriately during your stay and stays in my room in the evenings.
• While not a consistent barker, he does bark on occasion.
• Homeowner works during the work week and comes home once or twice during the day to check-in on pups.

At this time as pups is too full of energy, other pups traveling will have to visit when Grayson is older.

I am an Airbnb host since 2017 and I thoroughly enjoy hosting! I enjoy a guest for coming overnight for a wedding or an interview, or the people that come for three for four days - most of my 3-4 day stays are people attending their in-person portion of the art and music therapy program from St. Mary of the Woods, or hosting ISU potential students when they come to visit to check out the campus. I also have also hosted to Physical Therapists on travel assignment, usually to Union Hospital. Elizabeth, a 25 year old PT from Texas stayed 13 weeks in 2018, and Jackie, 38, from Vermont ended up staying 5 months in 2019! Jackie and I and my friends ended up going wine tasting, and holiday events during her stay and became friends! Jackie, like most PT's are into health and fitness and she loved the yoga studios here! She cooked up a storm in the kitchen, so if you are into cooking, there is plenty of room in the refrigerator for your culinary skills. Since 2018, I am an AmeriCorps Service Member serving United Ways “United Against Opioid Abuse” program. A national service program assisting in critical community needs. Helping our community communicate and collaborate among the prevention, treatment, and recovery sectors in addiction services. As of 2019, I am a Community Impact Associate with United Way continuing the journey in our community. I am also a 200 hour certified yoga teacher, having taught classes outdoors and in yoga studios. I have also taught Yoga of 12-Step Recovery, which is facilitating a 12-Step meeting followed by a yoga practice in a local sober living recovery home. Previous corporate experience includes 20+ year career in the medical device industry working at start ups in the San Francisco Bay Area, California. My Norwegian Elkhound Grayson is my best buddy and my closet friends are also doggy people! We get together every week, walking the beautiful lush green parks in Terre Haute. In addition, I am a foodie and movie goer whenever possible. I follow the lead from guests on their amount of interaction whether it's conversational or just wanting quiet downtime. I enjoy meeting people from all walks of life and from all over the country. How to Book My Listing: With your initial inquiry provide a short introduction of who you are and the reason for travel such as work or wedding, etc., If you are in an initial inquiry stage and have questions before booking, please feel free to message me first by clicking on "Contact Host" and we can discuss any questions you may have. Please feel free to read the reviews. Most reviews are from the guest room in my home but a couple are from a short-term rental property that I managed for a short time that was an occasional Airbnb and the home was old and showing it’s age and some guests are not comfortable in older homes. My home residence is cozy and has character with updated features of kitchen and bathroom and soothing color pallets throughout the home and guest room. If there are any questions, please feel free to send an inquiry.
