This 1973 Zephyr caravan is like stepping back into time. Cute, cosy, comfy and very kiwiana! With a double bed and 2 singles (caravan size beds) she is perfect for a few nights of chillaxing or a stopover to Abel Tasman NP. Zephyr sits nestled amongst the lush bush, our driveway, our babbling stream, and Falconer Rd. Be prepared to be very close to nature. The outdoor (covered) kitchen is complete with a gas cooker, sink and all the kitchen cooking essentials. Tea/coffee complimentary.

Le logement
We are 600 meters from the beach with Kahurangi and Abel Tasman National Parks at your exploration doorstep. This caravan is located on the same property as Oasis Omarama - Permaculture Glamping (also listed on Air BnB as one glamping tent). We can accomodate larger groups with the caravan and the glamping tent or this can be perfect for a bit of space from the kids (or the in-laws). Discounts can be offered for bookings of both the Glamping Tent and the caravan together. Please contact me.

You will relax in your own self-contained zone in lush surroundings right next to our stream. The caravan is also nearest to the road/driveway but this is a local road with very little traffic, just a few friendly neighbours. You will be close to nature with very basic amenities, but everything you need (bring your own towel if possible). This is a not a 5-star accomodation, but a humble kiwiana experience. There is an outdoor kitchen set up that is complete with all you need to cook up a feast. The kitchen is covered with a tarp roof but it is outside, so during rain it does get a bit wet (there are no walls). There are also spiderwebs given that this is an outdoor set up and I can in no way keep them out. There is a small fridge in the caravan as well. Tea and coffee goodies are complimentary. There is a small oil-fin heater in the caravan and an electric blanket on the double bed. As it's a small space, It's cosy as in there with the heater on. There is power to the caravan to charge gadgets.

We (your hosts) also live on the property about 70 meters from the caravan area. There are lots of trees and greenery between the dwellings so plenty of privacy. Again, there is only 1 caravan and 1 glamping tent on the property and the caravan is in it's own self-contained separate zone.
We also often have abundant fruit and produce and certain times of year that we love to share with our guests.

Let Nature surround and embrace you. Please Be prepared to be close to nature. If you cannot pee outside please do not book this accomodation 😊. At night it is easier to pee outside in the bush then walk the 25 meters to the loo. The outdoor shower and compost loo are a short stroll away (about 25 meters). If you are not comfortable with composting toilets or a hot beautiful outdoor shower then we recommend you book elsewhere.

The Caravan comfortably accommodates 2 adults, with space for up to 2 additional children or adults, making it the perfect family nature holiday getaway. All extra guests (including children) requiring a bed to be made up will be an additional $15 per night. Please add additional guests when making your booking. Also please note that these are caravan size beds so they run a bit small. They are NOT full size beds.

Please bring your own towels and if you have more than 2 guests a sleeping bag or blanket could be handy. We have extra bedding but it can get cool at night. Pets are allowed with prior approval and must sleep outside of the caravan. Pets will be charged an extra cleaning fee of $15 to be paid in cash. We look forward to hosting you and sharing our wee slice of paradise! Again prepare to be close to nature with basic facilities.

This beautiful and incredible land has been created and managed as a full Permaculture organic garden and self-sufficiency lifestyle block. Permaculture is the conscious design and maintenance of agriculturally productive systems which have the diversity, stability, and resilience of natural ecosystems. It is the harmonious integration of the landscape with the people which provides their food, energy, shelter and other material and non-material needs in a sustainable way. Permaculture integrates people into Nature's design. Spending time here allows you to be embraced and nurtured by this natural design. You can be at one with the elements as you enjoy your homegrown breakfast with the sun shining on you. We live on half an acre of luscious soil with our very own stream which runs year round. We aim to grow as much of our own food as possible. We have fruit and nut trees: peach, apple, plum, grape, hazelnut, walnut, avocado, lemon, macadamia, feijoa, fig, kiwifruit, mandarin, orange, pear, tamarillo....We also have our own chickens for fresh eggs. We have beehives that pollinate the fruit and nut trees and provide us with the most delicious honey! As fruit is in season, you can pick your own straight from the tree for the BEST-tasting, freshest fruit you have ever had. You can nibble your way through the gardens and enjoy a meditative sit on the sea view deck taking in the multitude of smells and sounds. You will lay your head to rest listening to a babbling stream gently lulling you to sleep. Abundant Native bird song will awake you in the morning within the natural rhythms of daybreak. We have tui, kereru, thrush, blackbird, bellbird, piwakawaka, weka, and more. The evening sun glows through the caravan and warms it throughout the day.

Accès des voyageurs
Quiet evenings are appreciated from 6:30pm onwards at the main house. This is our healing sanctuary and sacred space that we call home. We prefer quiet respectful guests who will respect our gardens, trees, animals, and our home as they would their own. Feel free to enjoy a bit of fun music during the day, but we appreciate tranquility in the evenings.

We have created a self-sufficient space around the Caravan for you to enjoy and relax and we will honor that as YOUR space. We would also appreciate that you honor our private time in and around the house (esp. in the evenings). Also respect needs to be given the Glamping tent guests and their space on another part of the land.

We prefer for Wifi to be used during the day (between 10am and 5pm) as the reception is only around the house/garage. Wifi does NOT reach to the caravan. No chemicals of any kind can be used on the land. Smoking is allowed outside only and well away from the main house. Please dispose of any waste responsibly. Dogs and pets may be considered with prior approval. They must be very well behaved with our chickens, cat, and bunny rabbit. All doggy doo must be picked up. Thank you for your understanding about this. Please feel free to speak to Shanti about your individual pet requirements.

The toilet and shower facilities are shared with the Glamping Tent and the main house. You need to bring your towel. Please enquire if you have any questions.

There are often children (mine and neighbors) playing creatively and joyfully around the land making noise as children do. If you are keen to get your hands in the dirt there are always plenty of garden jobs and projects. We invite others to participate in our lifestyle of living simply, happily, joyfully, and connected to the land.

Autres remarques
Please park along the roadside and NOT in front of the caravan. It is safe and quiet along the side of the road. The caravan is nestled between our driveway, the stream, our beehives and then beyond that the neighbourhood Falconer Road. It is furthest away from the house where we live (about 70 meters). This is a safe neighbourhood and the caravan does not have a lockable door. We never lock our house and have never had a problem. PLEASE be aware that we have our own beehives. There are 2 beehives about 4 to 5 meters away from the caravan zone. They are not aggressive but need to be left alone...they are very busy making honey. If you are allergic please let us know.

Please bring your own towels.
The Double bed is a bit on the small/short side. It can cosily fit 2 adults but if you are very tall it could be more of a challenge. All beds are caravan size not full size. There is an electric blanket on this bed during the cooler months (winter/autumn).

Breakfast Options: CASH ONLY and not included in the nightly rate. Muesli with raw local milk, wholegrain toast, homemade spreads plus whatever fruit is in season on the land OR fresh eggs from our happy hens and greens (as in season) with wholegrain toast and spreads. We can cook a homegrown breakfast feast for you with eggs as you like them, herbs, and greens with wholegrain toast with spreads ($15 per person per night) OR provide a breakfast basket for you to cook your own (additional $10 per person per night). We can also brew up some fair-trade organic coffe flat whites ($3.50) should you prefer this over plunger coffee which is included in your caravan. If you would like the full service brekky please let me know the night before. There is a breakfast menu onsite. Gluten free options also available.

I run Thrive Therapies at Aroha Health Spa in Pohara and work in many facets of natural health and healing, including massage, reflexology, herbalism, and colon hydrotherapy. I am often away from the land working with clients, especially in summer. Massage and other forms of healing bodywork can be arranged at Aroha Health Spa in Pohara, a 15 to 20 minute walk along the beach or 2 minute drive away.

Pohara, Tasman, Nouvelle-Zélande

We live across the street from our local Marae (Maori meeting place). We live in a quiet neighborhood and in a community of friendly, helpful, and caring people. Beautiful Pohara beach is just a 600 meter stroll away. The beach is an endless expanse of ever-changing beauty as the tide moves a great distance between high and low. It is a great place to walk, run, explore, swim, frolic, ride horses, fly a kite, kayak, ride a blo-kart, relax, read, or walk your dog. We even have our very own NZ Little Blue Penguins residing nearby, who are shy but very entertaining. The Tarakohe wharf is also only a 15-20 minute walk with great access to fishing, sailing and boating. There is ample rock climbing within walking distance all along the sea frontage. We are at the gateway to the top end of the Abel Tasman National Park (the quietest most untouched areas are up on the top end). There are endless pristine beaches to explore, kayak, or walk along, as well as waterfall and bush tracks. Some of Golden Bay's best restaurants are within walking distance, such as the San Souci Inn and Ratanui Lodge. For any easy inexpensive meal pick up some fish & chips or pizzas from the local takeaways at Pohara General Store. Aroha Health Spa just down the road provides a range of relaxing therapies and treatments to pamper you after a long day exploring :)

Pendant votre séjour
We are available to assist you with your needs during your stay. I am often at Aroha Health Spa in Pohara where I work, so you are free to spend your days exploring, relaxing, reading, listening to birdsong, walking on the beach.... If no one is home to greet you (because I am at work) then please make yourself at home in the caravan and we will catch you soon enough). If you prefer total privacy, please let us know and we will respect your request. We prefer privacy from 6:30pm onwards at the main house, so that my daughter can get to bed. Wifi can be used on the verandah of the house (or inside) as this is where the signal is best between 10am and 5pm. If you notice the ropes are across the stone path that leads to our wee house then that is the signal that we are needing some privacy. If there is an emergency then by all means...let me know...otherwise enjoy your time and space and we shall do the same.
