We are very sorry Tyler felt this way about his stay. We aim to please everyone who chooses our house for their St. Augustine vacation. With this in mind, we gave Tyler and his guests a "hurricane relief" package of wine, chips, water bottles, and chocolates. We also extended a helping hand of a 50% discount their first night since it was a hurricane evacuation.
Tyler noted the charge for the broken TV but failed to mention that a mirror in the adjacent room was also broken to pieces during his stay. Other guests have broken things in the house and (per the clearly state house rules) have notified me. We have always worked things out without a hitch. As in most situations, communication is key. I can't help but think that his less than stellar review has something to do with this damage situation.
For the record... Our house contains three brand new TV's - 2 are 39" flat panels and 1 is a 27." Our neighborhood is home to professionals, families, artists, retirees, many Flagler college students, etc., etc.. It's not uncommon to see people walking dogs, exercising, tourists heading to St. George Street and college students heading to campus day and night. It is very quiet and neighbors are friendly. We make 3 parking spaces available in our driveway and garage. Street parking is limited but there are spaces on our street as well. Again, we have always worked this out with our renters. This brings me to my last point... I meet all renters when they arrive to give them information about the house and answer any questions they may have about St. Augustine. Airbnb allows owners to ask renters for ID upon check-in like hotels (I do not ask for this). I truly don't mind be flexible about arrival times. Pat and I hope you will look at past reviews when making your decision of where to stay in St. Augustine. We very much look forward to hosting you!
