Springfield House is a traditional granite house located in the quaint village of Carrbridge in the Cairngorms National Park, Scottish Highlands.

The house is suitable for up to six guests so perfect for families and small groups of friends.

It is well equipped for cosy nights in, as a base for Cairngorm adventures or for special celebrations.

It is also ideally located for exploring Speyside's many distilleries, National Cycle Route 7, or a stop off before hitting the North Coast 500.

Le logement
The house has recently been refurbished to create a stylish and homely space, with lots of personal touches and bespoke elements. There are two double bedrooms upstairs (one with en-suite / walk-in shower) and one twin on the ground floor.

There is a toasty living room with wood-burning stove, smart TV and a selection of books and board games. Additional lounging area in the 'snug', which is located just off the kitchen, where you'll find a piano and vintage amp. Why not fill the house with music as you cook?

The kitchen is well equipped for cooking up a feast with a 5 burner gas range, fan-assisted double oven, dishwasher and microwave. The dining room looks onto the garden and decking area.

The large, private back garden has a beautiful fire pit, made from salvaged sandstone and granite, undercover pagoda and plenty of outdoor seating.

The entire house is heated by a wood-pellet boiler, making all your needs for warmth completely renewable.

Carrbridge, Royaume-Uni

Carrbridge is a beautiful historic village dating back to the early 1800s. Famous for its 18th century packhorse bridge (if you're lucky you might spot a piper playing there on a summer's evening!) and as Scotland's first ski village, it is perfect for those looking for an alternative to the bustle of Aviemore.

For its size, there's a great range of things to see and do. There's a fantastic selection of walks and bike trails just minutes from the house.

Landmark Adventure Park is a must for families and is just 5-10 minutes walk from the house. There is plenty on offer for a fun filled day out - forest activity park with climbing wall, high wire course, maze, raft ride and rollercoaster and more.

The village hosts a couple of fantastic (and world renowned) annual competitions: the annual Golden Spurtle porridge competition and Carve Carrbridge where you can witness the spectacle of chainsaw woodcarving.

Just a minute's walk from the house there is a fantastic traditional pub and cafe; both serving great homemade food. There is also a gift shop and gallery showcasing a range of art and crafts from local artists.

As well as a golf course there is a play park, football pitch, BMX park and pony trekking, all just moments from the house.

Carrbridge is also a short drive or cycle from Boat of Garten, Aviemore and Grantown-on-Spey; where there's a good range of eateries, pubs and shops and supermarkets.

Fun things to do and see locally...

There are fantastic walks straight from the house and all across the local area - the list is endless! Footpaths take you from moor to woodland and riverside to loch edge. As well as walking and mountain climbing there is sensational mountain biking and road biking to be had, with some of the best trails in Scotland.

Whether you are looking for a cliff-top challenge, or a quiet ride out in the countryside, the Cairngorms have a cycle route suitable for everyone. You can make the most of your cycle safe in the knowledge that a welcome pit-stop is never too far away.

The Highland Wildlife Park boasts a huge range of local and more exotic creatures, from polar bears and snow leopards to red squirrels and Scottish wild cats.

Just north of Kincraig, Alvie Estate is a beautiful highland estate, well worth exploring. There are many activities available - quad biking, horse riding, fishing, clay pigeon shooting, zip-wire park and bush-craft survival classes. You can feed the deer in the winter months or watch sheep being clipped in June. Tours can be organised if you want to learn more about our countryside and how the estate makes a living. When in season, local venison, lamb, beef, smoked trout, strawberries and raspberries can be purchased from the Dalraddy Holiday Park shop. Loch Alvie is also a great place to take your canoe (put in from layby by the side of the road) and is a perfect place to watch the sun setting.

Loch Insh Watersports offer sailing, windsurfing, canoeing, river trips, rowing, fishing, dry ski slope skiing, archery, mountain biking and hill walking. They have a bar and café too. Hire gear and/or an instructor by the hour, day or week.

Rothiemurchus Estate, by Aviemore, organise nature spotting trips, wildlife photography classes and land rover safaris, among many other activities.

For those interested in our history, Delfour Standing Stones are located on Alvie Estate dating back 6000 years. There are Iron Age forts, the Wolf of Badenoch's Castle at Loch an Eilean, Ruthven Barracks by Kingussie, the Highland Folk Museum in Newtonmore, the Strathspey Steam Railway in Aviemore, Culloden battlefield and Fort George on the way to Inverness as well as a number of country houses, castles and burial grounds to see nearby.

Cairngorm Mountain and and the Lecht Ski Centre are both around 45 minutes' drive away.

This part of Cairngorm National Park enjoys all the trappings that come with a busy, tourist destination, while remaining one of Scotland - and Europe’s - great, wild spaces.
