Our loft will provide a comfortable stay to either the weekender or one who needs to spend a week in Kansas City. The two bedroom, two bath ‘home-away-from-home' is easily accessible from either I-70 or I-35, yet affords a sense of quiet and seclusion for those who wish to avoid the urban rush.

If you are a discriminating connoisseur of the arts or a rabid sports fan, its location affords easy access to the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts, Sprint Center and both Kauffman and Arrowhead stadiums.

Even bicyclists can find a rather interesting bike shop nearby where bikes may be rented for a ride through the urban landscape or along the Lewis and Clarke trail overlooking the Missouri River.

Perhaps you just want to experience a bit of urban life. Whether it be an eclectic array of restaurants, antiquing or farmer's market, our loft is a block away from the City Market, where you will find a selection of interesting retail shops and casual dining eateries. Additional shopping can be found just 10 minutes to the north at Briarcliff Village and Zona Rosa, and 10 minutes to the south at the Country Club Plaza. More exclusive dining lies a few blocks to the south in the heart of downtown Kansas City and the Power and Light District.

Nowhere in Kansas City can you find a more diverse dining experience. International cuisines are the norm and standard fare compliments the options making the decision on where to dine out a difficult task. Your mouth will water as you consider dining options for breakfast, lunch, dinner and every possible snack or meal in-between, including:
Chinese
Ethiopian
Farm to Table
French
Italian
Mediterranean
Mexican
Vietnamese
American foods, from flapjacks to pizza to sandwiches

Grab a cup of ‘Joe' or afternoon gelato to fulfill your cravings for caffeine or sweets. Listen to music on outdoor patios with friends and drink a thirst quenching happy hour beverage. Enjoy a night out at one of several hot spots for some late-night libations.

Or, take advantage of loft living and whip up your own gourmet meal in our newly remodeled kitchen featuring granite counters and a classic subway tile backsplash. Fresh seafood, beef, vegetables and fruit are available a few blocks to the south at Cosentino's grocery store. If you wish to experience something more adventurous, the City Market is home to several ethnic markets.

As our guest, you will have access to free onsite parking and full/private use of the loft!

We will check you in remotely and give you access to a set of keys. We are available to answer any questions or concerns you have during your stay via phone call, text or the Airbnb messaging system.

The River Market community in Kansas City, Missouri, is not only one of the city's most historic neighborhoods, but also one of the most culturally rich areas. Brick streets, historic buildings, and decorative street lamps provide the ambiance of an old city in this thriving neighborhood.

The River Market is a vibrant and friendly community with a bountiful anchor attraction, the region's largest farmers' market, the historic City Market. Since the early 1800's, the Historic River Market has been the place to be.

Take a leisurely walk around this historic area and stop at the observation deck at 1st and Main where it all began for Kansas City. Look out over the great Missouri River and consider the River Market's extensive colorful history dating back to mid-1850's when the City Market Square began as a site for market commerce, horse trading, political rallies, revival, medicine shows and circuses. Continue along the walking trail to Richard L Berkley Riverfront Park, situated along the south bank of the Missouri River with views of both the historic Missouri River and the beautiful downtown Kansas City skyline. The park boasts of being the only developed green space on the Missouri River in urban downtown Kansas City. The park offers lighted walking and biking paths, grass and paved parking, plenty of open space and a natural amphitheater.

Getting around Downtown Kansas City, Missouri is easy with convenient access from all points of the metropolitan area via car, bus, trolley and taxi.

Greater Downtown embraces a rich variety of neighborhoods and districts. It extends from the River Market and Columbus Park to the north; the West Bottoms and the Westside on the west; the Historic Jazz District at 18th & Vine to the east; and all the way south the Martini Corner along 31st Street.

Streets are laid out on a simple grid system. The numbered streets run east/west and begin with 2nd Street in the River Market and increase in number as you move south through the Central Business District, the Crossroads Arts District, Crown Center, Union Station, Liberty Memorial, Union Hill, Hospital Hill and on to Martini Corner.

We met in the River Market in 2005, when we lived in neighboring buildings along Delaware Street. We married in 2006 in the courtyard across the street from our loft and held our reception down the hill at the City Market. Years later, we brought 2 babies into the world and into our loft; a boy in 2009 and a girl in 2013. Our loft is hip, historical and in a fantastic location, but more than that, it is the home in which we became a family. We hope you enjoy your stay as much as we have!!
