The beach is open! Our hotelito offers six distinct, simple rooms on the beach with a nice view at a nice price. Four are on airbnb. The photos here show the second-floor cabin. Not only can you almost reach out and touch the southern corner of Tenacatita Bay, but you only need to walk only 10 meters to cross the little bridge to reach La Manzanilla’s charming plaza. Please review all details listed. Ask any questions before making reservations because we want everyone to enjoy a 5-star stay!

Le logement
The units are next to the Crocodile Bar and Cafe Du Calcetin, so you only need to go a few steps to the best coffee in town. Crocodile Bar will also offer breakfast, lunch and dinner on a daily basis in the high season. For those of you familiar with La Manzanilla, you know it remains tranquil, so please don’t fret about sleeping next door to a bar. Normally, the crowd comes for the sunset and most nights the large palapa closer to the rooms will be shut down by 10 p.m. and the smaller palapa closer to the ocean will be shut down by 11 p.m.

Please understand this listing is a cabin with a palapa roof and a wooden floor. Enjoy the spectacular views from our only cabaña featuring two beds and two small rooms. Though the manager considers this unit his favorite, it has a simple bathroom with a concrete floor and low clearance in the doorway between the two rooms. That said, if you enjoy staying in a cabin, you will love the rustic ambience of sleeping below a palapa roof with a view of the bay from your bed. If you desire a more cosmopolitan setting, please refrain from reserving this cabin. Please understand by Airbnb's definition the cabin has two rooms. It is possible to sleep with the door closed between the rooms, but the first room is the only one with the bathroom and acess to the single entry.

Room 6 includes: Great views, matrimonial bed, individual bed, drinking water, small plastic table, plastic shelves, two chairs, two portable fans, dresser for clothes, refrigerator, lamps, sink in the first room, tiny, austere bathroom with a concrete floor. The wifi can be spotty in this room, but guests are always welcome to access wifi at the palapa when it does not reach the room. Room 6 has a decent amount of space for 1-2 people and is OK for 4 people.

Room 6 does not include: Curtains. There is no kitchenette in this room, but Room 4 has a kitchenette and Rooms 1 and 2 (listed elsewhere on the internet) also have kitchenettes. There is no air conditioner in this room, but it has an excellent breeze from the ocean and it has windows facing the lagoon as well. There is no ceiling fan, but it does have two portable fans. There is no TV nor video games provided in this room. Please, no smoking and no cooking of any kind in this room. No loud music anywhere allowed. Mateo allows a maximum of 6 people to stay in Room 6. If you choose this option, it will be more crowded and less comfortable. Two of the six people would have to sleep on air mattresses in this case.

Please understand this room is a rustic cabin. The entrance requires
to go up the back stairs, which are after the restaurant bathrooms, storage area and dishwashing area. This is the least attractive part of the establishment, but once you enter the cabin you will hopefully be pleased with the incredible views of the ocean on the front and the lagoon on the back. Though almost all of the guests have been extremely pleased, one guest complained about the lack of curtains on the windows. The photos have always accurately displayed that the windows do not have curtains, but only someone on a boat in the ocean, with binoculars, could see into your room and only at night if you had the lights on. The bathroom is tiny with concrete floor, and austere. The bathroom walls were painted in November 2019, but could use more paint today. If you wish to have a bathroom with a tile floor, please reserve either Room 3 or Room 4. While most guests in this room have loved the wooden floors, one guest said the floor was "uneven."

We hope you understand we are trying to be as transparent as possible about the good and bad about all of our cabanas. If you look at the comments from Mateo's previous guests in all of the rooms, you will see almost everyone has loved the establishment because they came in with realistic expectations. If you wish to get an experience you would find at a Four Seasons, we hope you can make a reservation at the Four Seasons.

Accès des voyageurs
Anyone renting a cabaña is guaranteed a table for two day and night at the Crocodile Bar, even if you simply want to read a book or watch the bay. Enjoy the view from your room or take advantage of the charming palapa a few steps away. Of course hot water is included. All units have screens on the windows. Please understand under normal circumstances the wifi works well in the palapa area and you are always welcome there, but the service can be spotty inside of Cabin 6.

Please understand the primary access to the establishment is a suspension bridge made of cable, wood and rope. It is 100 percent safe if you walk in a normal fashion, but it will sway some as you walk on it. Some guests prefer to walk around on the beach. There is a photo of bridge posted on the page.

Autres remarques
The artistic seaside community of La Manzanilla continues to charm tourists from the entire world, especially Canada, Mexico the United States. We're big enough to have several doctors, schools, small stores and plenty of wonderful restaurants, but quaint enough that we still don't have chain restaurants. And of course you must visit the crocodile sanctuary!

One can't beat our beachfront location for the sunsets over Tenacatita Bay. If you don't wish to eat with us, there are plenty of great restaurant options within a short walk. As we are on the beach, you have no hills to climb to reach us and all basic services are within five minutes on foot.

Your bilingual Gringo host has been visiting the Mexican Pacific since 1992 and has lived in Jalisco for more than five years. Mateo will provide all guests with excellent on-site service, whether they wish to stay for a night, a week, a month, or more. If you already know your way around and wish to do your own thing, that's fine as well. In rare occasions in the low season, Mateo will not be available on site, but will always be a phone call away. In any case, Mateo wants you to have a five-star stay and wants you to let him know about anything you need before and during your stay. Also, Airbnb has asked me about the following: Life motto: Don't choose a life motto. Favorite travel destinations: La Manzanilla, New Orelans, Guanajuato, Talpalpa and Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on a Saturday night in football season. Five things I can't live without: Family, beach, friends, good food, Internet Favorite food: Mexican, Cajun, seafood Books: Does The Washington Post count? Shows: LSU and New Orleans Saints.
