I grew up in Epekwitk in Mi'kma'ki (Prince Edward Island) in eastern Canada. I left home at 16 to attend a united world college with other people from across the globe. Since then, I've had the privilege of living around the world as well as traveling and experiencing great hospitality. Living back here now, I am grateful to have a space where we can host, we love our little slice of this beautiful island and are so happy to share it with others. I am a trauma therapist and Irish, my parter, is a professional touring musician and we have several fur babies you'll see on the property.
Dyson is the head fur baby, a 13 year old miniature daschund. He has lost a lot of his hearing and sight so can be a little barky at first meet. Juno, a 2 year old goofy and loving mixed pup who thinks she's tiny and is not, and Meabh, our kitten who's certain she's a dog. They are all very friendly but if you're scared of dogs please let us know at booking and we'll take extra care to make sure they're not around your space.
In addition to my paid work and passion for justice and community organizing, you'll generally find me somewhere outdoors. Spending time with family and friends at the beach, hiking, multi-day trekking, listening to podcasts, music and audio books, travelling when I can or at a music festival (can't wait for these to be back!).
We love meeting new people and are happy to connect if you would like to interact. If not, we totally understand that too. However, My parents, Karen and Dave will be your primary hosts. They live just up the road and will be your main point of contact. Dave has spent time in his life working in two of PEI's main industries; lobster fishing and potato farming. He knows a ton about the area and the history having lived in this community his whole life. He is also an incredible story teller so if you're interested chat him up! Karen is your source of information for fun things to do. She's always aware of what's going on in terms of music and events as well as ideas of things to visit or do based on your interests. They're both incredibly hospitable and will be a great resource for you.
We hope you have a great stay and fall in love with the area as much as we do.
