A unique little house to experience; a basic Norwegian 16th-century lumber cabin in the middle of fruit farms. An atmospheric place, cosy and romantic for couples or friends to relax in summertime, or a base camp for trekking and day trips.
Bathroom and dish washing in neighbor house, only 15 m to walk
Bedlinen included, put on/off yourself.
Private garden area with sitting furniture, awning and a small barbecue.
Self catering cabin. Local grocery store 5 minutes away. Odda town 20 minutes away

Le logement
The atmosphere of half a millennium of farming and nature are in the walls of this small (one room & loft) log cabin, situated among the other farmhouses in one of Norways oldest farming areas.

Despite being a humble, simply equipped little sibling to the large farmhouses around, it is a popular place to stay. Both families with small children and students on trekking-trips have enjoyed it.

The main room contains a sitting area, a bed, and some basic cooking/kitchen-equipment (not water - you find water where you do the dishes).
Shower/WC/dish washing with basic and simple standard in a nearby building. You have of course both warm and cold water .
Cabin's sleeping loft has 4 flexible flat beds ( make them into two singel or one large double ).
The house is not full isolated, and therefore not in use during wintertime.

Où se situe le logement

Odda, Hordaland, Norvège

The tiny hamlet of Bleie, with traditional fruit farms, is a delightful place to just stay and rest. For all ages, incl children, the small, nearly car-free gravel road among the houses is a cozy walk.

Bleie is also a great base for trekking and CAR TRIPS around Fjord Norway.

WATERFALL- 'SAFARI' : We also have a special recommendation for this trip by car, a very good alternative especially in rainy day when hiking is not the best.

TROLLTUNGA - Take this thrilling and legendary trek, about 40min drive away to start point. But only 20 minuets from the shuttle bus from center of Odda town.

FJORD LANDSCAPE - EASY EXPERIENCE from 0-300 meters above sea level - Drive or walk up to the neighbouring mountain hamlet of Reiseter is a MUST when staying here. Then you will have more memories from where you have been staying and

FOLGEFONNA GLACIER NATIONAL PARK:
PILGRIMS TRAIL - from the cabin's door steps it is possible walk up to Folgefonna national park along the several thousand stone steps of the Pilgrims trail - one of Hardanger's golden routes, newly beautifully restored by Sherpas from Nepal.

or go
SUMMER SKIING at Fonna Glacier ski resort - they will try to open already by Easter time this year. It is a fascinating drive up to the alpine mountains by the glacier, and a place to visit even if not skiing.
maybe a tour on the fjordwiht the rowing boat and go fishing.
... and much more - I will send you a link to all kinds of activites after booking

Retired fruit grower and first female adviser for the fruit farmers in Hardanger. Health problems put an end to my farming job. So the farmland is rented out. Now I am 'only' landlady of the empty farm houses while e wait for the next generation to take over. It is so nice to have life and people around, and "lights in the windows". I try to do as good job as possible as an Airbnb host. I try to have good communication with the guests in advance, because I want them to have as good as possible experience visiting my place. I try to send link or otherwise give advice regarding hiking and sightseeing, what to bring in baggage depending on what activities the guests want to do etc. I also explain which route is good to take to get here depending from where they come into Hardanger region I try to be around when guests arrive and leave. Since I am living in the middle between 3 of theses farm houses, that is normally possible Eternal gardening enthusiast with a wild garden along a river near the houses - free to use for guests in all 3 houses, sit in and enjoy the river. Engaged in local community and sustainable development. And last, but not least, a grandmother. Finally; in the Airbnb map the listings are placed wrong - I am sorry, but it seems to be impossible to edit it. 3 of the houses are near each other if groups of friends would like to stay near to each others. Only the seashore house is a bit away from the others. kind regards and welcome Arnhild "All the flowers of all tomorrows are in the seeds of today!"

Pendant votre séjour

I Arnhild , the host lives in the red house by the river, ca 100 m away. I can be reached on the Airbnb chat ( which I prefer) , by phone or email, and is usually not far away if direct contact is needed.
Normally , when you arrive and it is no pandemi, I will be around and welcome you, tell about practical things you need to know, like the two houses you use, surrounding area, trips, things to do, safety and respect for the old building , etc.
After the pandemi hit, I have changed this interaction and keep distance as much as possible for everyone's safety. But I am still easy to reach via extern ways.
There are NEVER someone new cheking in the same day as someone check out - also due to corona.
It is easy to keep safe distance to others.
