Aloha and welcome to our ultimate paradise. Hale Laule'a is a private, four acre, resort-like, multi-million dollar estate completed March 2019. Our property is simply breathtaking and is an exclusive, high-end, custom-built masterpiece of concrete and heavy timber design. Designed to be a net-zero estate, Hale Laule'a is made of recycled and sustainable materials, makes its own electricity and water, and is working to grow its own food on site. The property includes the main house, Hale Laule’a, with back lanai and pool; the Carriage House with an apartment and barn; a micro orchard; a small animal area; multi-use areas; and multiple gardens including the lower garden on the ocean.

The space for rent is the Solar Suite, a separate, detached apartment adjacent to the Main house. The Solar Suite is a studio, 2 room apartment with its own parking, entrance and yard. Completed in June 2020, this space is approximately 630sf and consist of a studio bedroom with a queen size bed, custom dining table with 4 chairs, desk, pull out sofa couch and coffee table. The second room is the kitchenette with glasses, dishes, and silverware. Cooking is no issue, as there is an induction cooktop, full-sized microwave, dutch door oven, refrigerator with icemaker, coffee pot, and blender. There is a large custom closet. The luxurious bathroom has a private bidet toilet, and there is even a view of the ocean from the rain shower. The windows and doors all have screens so you can enjoy the breezes and sounds of the waves. This apartment rivals the best at any luxury hotel you can imagine, with all furniture, doors and windows custom made of teak, exposed beams in the ceiling, and special architect details throughout. Your panoramic view is unobstructed, with the Pacific Ocean only a stone's throw from your double french doors and private garden. The apartment is adjacent to the back lanai of the main house and the swimming pool. Guests do have full use of the main house pool and back lanai facility, and all garden spaces. A laundry facility is available for guest use. Weekly and monthly stays are discounted and include weekly cleaning and linen service.

While staying at the Solar Suite, a typical day would start by drinking a cup of coffee or tea watching the most beautiful sunrise on the Pacific Ocean from your bed, the lower garden, or pool deck of Hale Laule'a. After coffee, go on a 2 mile round trip walk to Hakalau Beach Park taking in views of Mauna Kea, waterfalls and lush tropical plants. When you arrive to the beach, it will most likely be all yours as you explore the ruins of an old sugar plantation and look in amazement of the natural beauty of Hawaii. Once back, you can jump into the pool for a refreshing swim in the 25-meter lap lane or play a game of volleyball in the sports area of the pool. When done, settle into the lower garden on Hale Laule'a with a good book or arrange for a Yoga or meditation session. After lunch, walk the gardens, visit the farmers market, or arrange for equine therapy or riding lessons with the local horses right up the road. During the winter months, watch the whales frolic right off the property. At night, enjoy the back lanai of the main house by the fireplace, or get into the spa and watch the stars unfold. For privacy, head to the lower garden and sit by yourself surrounded by the ocean on three sides with waves crashing on the rocks below as you drift away to another world in one of the most beautiful spots on this earth. Anything you want is possible and arrangements can be made with the host.

Additional activity arrangements can be made with host to include Scuba Dive Training, Open Water Scuba Dives, Snorkeling, Equine Therapy and Horse Riding Lessons offsite, Full Day Private Tours of the Island, and Life Coaching utilizing Myers Briggs Personality Type Indicator. For special occasions, guest can arrange for private butler service, private parties, weddings and other special events.

There are many animals on the property. All animals are friendly and are in specific areas. They will not bother guests, though you can arrange to spend time with them. For more information about what is possible, contact the host.

• Upon arrival, you will find the space fully furnished, clean, and stocked with shampoo, soap, paper products as well as clean, quality towels and linens.
• There are no hidden fees. This property collects a $75 cleaning fee and GET/TAT taxes as required. Local and state tax on the room is 14.9% for stays less than 180 days. The host will collect the tax from the guest separately upon check in.
• This is a detached apartment located on a 4-acre working estate with animals. It is not a hotel/motel, condominium, or timeshare. There are activities going on during the day and night in support of daily living on an estate of this magnitude.
• This is a tobacco-free property. No smoking, vaping, or chew tobacco is allowed on the property. No drugs.
• Guests will be required to have a welcome brief to use the amenities of the property and sign a rental agreement. In addition, all guest must provide a government issued photo ID to confirm identify and understanding of house policies.
• Guests agree to stay a safe distance from cliff and follow all rules of the property.

Private pick up from Hilo and Kona Airports are available for additional fees. Recommend a rental car during stay to see all areas of the islands.

The Estate of Hale Lauale'a is situated on Opihi Point in the town of Hakalau, 12 miles North of Hilo, Hawaii, on the Hamakua Cost of the Big Island. Known as the Golden Coast of Hawaii, it is referred to as the most lush and beautiful area of all of Hawaii. Visit old towns, waterfalls, private beaches and areas most visitors to Hawaii will never see. Hale Laule'a is 20 minutes from Hilo, 1 hour drive to Volcano National Park, 1.5 hour dirve to the top of Mauna Kea mountain, and 1.75 hours to Kona.
