Owner is a professional musician and entertains the tourists on the island. We go to clubs and hotels nightly and can suggest places of entertainment or bring you along. Owner lives next door so advice and assistance is at hand. You set the pace. We love the interaction but if it's a peaceful and private retreat you are seeking, we respect your privacy.
*We have hot water. Sounds silly but most homes on the island do not. *Internet service on this island is interrupted on a regular basis. It can be frustrating, be patient it comes back.
*T-Mobile users You are lucky people, T-Mobile has an agreement with the provider on the island so no need for an International plan. You have automatic service and unlimited free texting and e-mails. Calls are .20 per min to the US. Check T-Mobile for up to date information. Other plans, I suggest adding International for your stay.
*We are happy to pick you up at the airport if needed, please let us know 2 weeks in advance.
*Your DOGS are welcome. They need rabies shots and a bill of health from the vet. Those are Aruba's requirements. Most airlines allow a pet up to 20lb to fly in the cabin and ticket cost is apx $100. Better than boarding!! (no cats please, we love kitties but we have 3 small dogs that are not used to cats ... everyone would be miserable)
*Rule #1... HAVE FUN, IT'S One Happy Island! :D
We want you to be happy and have a great time on your vacation just be mindful of our neighbors.
*Please smoke outdoors on the patio or how about the upper deck while gazing across the sea at Venezuela.
*The cost for electricity is $$$ on the island. We appreciate your cooperation in being mindful of the use of air-conditioning. Please don't leave it running if you are not home. We will enter the home and turn the a/c off if left unattended. We allot 125florin per week for your electricity use, the house is on a pay as you go card. If you exceed that allotment, your security deposit will be deducted the amount we have to add to electricity.
*We do not charge a cleaning fee up front. We do expect our home to be reasonably in order upon your leaving. Please read our departure page in the blue booklet we provide.
*Please make sure the refrigerator is clear, the stove is wiped clean, the microwave is wiped out and the trash is taken out.
*We also ask that you would be kind enough to strip the beds and place all used linens in the laundry room. We will do the rest. Because we don't have a strict check in and check out time our guests frequently overlap. Your help and understanding is greatly appreciated if we ask special favors.
*If the house requires extensive cleaning we will expect reimbursement from the deposit which is typically $60.00 depending upon the required cleaning to be done.
Cherie: I visit Aruba every 3 months. I love the peace, the sun and the ocean breeze. But as you can imagine being from LA I love the night-life too. So Aruba suits me well, I have the tranquility at Baby Beach and the night-life. I've traveled to many countries and across the US. For me, I love to experience the local things. That's just me, I love to feel at home wherever I travel and with whomever I meet. And with that in mind, it's how we view hosting guests. It's the local warmth and caring, the feel... we want everyone who visits us to have the same experience.
