Relax and recharge in our recently renovated Vermont cottage. Enjoy this perfect getaway with hardwood floors, fast wifi, a fully equipped kitchen, a quiet sleeping loft, gorgeous natural light, views of surrounding hills and pond, gardens, and your own private entrance and back deck.

Le logement
Our recently renovated Vermont cottage is your perfect country retreat and getaway. The cottage shares 2 acres with the main house, but is a separate structure and is completely private. It is the perfect space for your fall or wintry escape, summer vacation, romantic getaway, or artist's retreat.

Upstairs in the loft, you’ll find a quiet retreat with a queen bed surrounded by bookshelves and an extra long twin bed in the nook. With the window open, you'll fall asleep to the sounds of the brook and spring peepers.

On the main level is a fully-equipped kitchen, with dishwasher, full ovenwith propane stovetop, a countertop bar with stools, and a small table. The bathroom is just off the kitchen with plenty of shelves and a funky copper tub and shower.

Four steps down from the kitchen brings you to the sitting room, a great reading or lounging spot with full southern exposure. The bay window showcases peaceful views of the pond, woodlands, and our neighbors' working farm.

For additional guests, the sofa opens up to a generously sized single bed and the south facing bay window and cushion seat doubles an additional single bed.

For longer stays, you are welcome to use the washer and dryer in the main house.

Accès des voyageurs
The cottage sits on the same property as the main house, but is a separate structure and is completely private. We have 2 acres with a small pond, brook, woods, and a small trail, all of which you are welcome to explore. There are gorgeous Vermont walking and hiking trails nearby.

In winter, bring your cross country skis; there are incredible groomed trails one mile from our house in the village center. We have snowshoes you can borrow— just ask! We are 25 minutes to Grafton Ponds nordic ski and snowshoe area as well. While the surroundings are rural, we live on a paved road, accessible in all seasons and just a short drive into Putney.

We are happy to share with you recommendations for local restaurants or you can cook in the cottage kitchen with full fridge, oven, and gas cooktop. Within one mile of our house is an organic dairy farm, an organic produce farmstand, and an artisanal, family-run sheep farm which produces renowned sheep cheeses. Nearby Putney, Brattleboro, and Walpole all have thriving weekend farmer’s markets during the summer season.

Autres remarques
The cottage stairs leading to the loft are steep with unconventional railings (please see photos) and are not recommended for young children. This said, we love hosting families if you and your children are comfortable navigating the open loft space and stairs. We even have a swingset in the back yard;) Let us know if you'd like us to leave out children's books and toys, or a portable Baby Bjorn travel crib;)

The loft space for sleeping has low ceiling clearance along the eaves— see photos.

The copper tub is deep and you have be able to step up and over the tub's edge to get into the shower/tub.

Cell service is not always reliable in southern Vermont. If your phone works over wifi, you'll be able to make calls without issue from the cottage. If you need a landline, you are welcome to use ours in the main house.

Check out our local orchard, Green Mountain Orchards, where you can pick-your-own blueberries, raspberries, plums, pears, peaches, and apples. They also sell delicious homemade pies and cider donuts. For outdoor enthusiasts, we are close to ski mountains— under an hour to Mt. My husband and I fell in love with Vermont's seasonal extremes, vibrant outdoor lifestyle, and strong sense of community... and we decided to raise a family here! We have three boys, ages 10, 8, and 2, and two cats. We love to travel and meet new people along the way. The cottage and our house are located on the same property; we are happy to be able to share our space with you!
