Le logement
The bedroom is a charming beamed room with a single bed, 190 cms long. We can add a baby’s travel cot. It has a bathroom immediately next door for your exclusive use – unless there are other guests staying in our attic listing as well. The bathroom is a lovely period space - but everything functions in a 21st century way! Tea and coffee are available for you to make on the landing.

Accès des voyageurs
Your rooms are on the second floor. Thus, a lot of very steep stairs! To get to them you go through our part of the house to your own area. Unless you are on a longer stay, only your bedroom, bathroom, and - for breakfast - the dining room and kitchen - are available to you. Breakfast will be left out for you in the kitchen/dining room. But if you are on a longer stay I am very happy to negotiate shared use of other spaces and use of kitchen for cooking.

Autres remarques
Norwich is a gorgeous medieval city with world-class visual art, music to suit every taste, easy access to the Broads and the sea, and a laid back, easy-going vibe. It is a safe place to wander, soak up the atmosphere, do some hassle-free shopping, or generally chill out. Our house is so central, all these are really easy to do.

Norwich, Royaume-Uni

We live right within the medieval city walls, three minutes walk from one of England's most beautiful cathedrals and a lovely river walk. We are ten minutes walk from Norwich's Norman castle which houses a splendid museum, and from the bustling central marketplace. Our part of Golden Dog Lane is a pedestrian alleyway with six dwellings on it. The Last Wine Bar, on nearby St George's St, is an award-winning restaurant. Cinema City is our local arts cinema, again only five minutes walk away, within a Jacobean mansion - and with another great restaurant. The famous Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts is a 15 minute bus ride away at UEA.

We have lived in our quirky home, where we brought up our two gorgeous daughters, for over a quarter century. Though not retiring age yet, we’ve both stepped back from full time work in order to prioritise other things: our granddaughters, playing violin and piano, meditation, and travel - local and international. We like cycling round the reedbeds and old churches of Norfolk as much as tracing family history in Burma, Assam, Ethiopia, and Czechoslovakia. We both speak French and Nepali, but enjoy communicating with people with whom we share no common language. We love classical music (though not exclusively), good food, family, and friends. In our former lives, Anna worked at the University of East Anglia, Norwich University of the Arts, and Norwich Castle Museum as an Art Historian, and Howard was a Senior Manager in and out of the NHS. As we fall upwards into our second half of life, we are trying to learn to Be more than to Do. Our particular 'road less travelled' frequently brings us back to our local mystic, Julian of Norwich, who says it all for us when she promises that 'all shall be well, and all manner of thing shall be well.'

We are happy to help throughout your stay with anything you need, but generally we will respect your privacy and take a low profile unless you want it otherwise. You will have your own front door key to let yourselves in and out. Breakfast will be laid out for you to help yourselves in the kitchen on the ground floor at a time to suit you. There are plenty of eateries for other meals from 100 yards of the front door - some very fine indeed.
