“Hands-down best sushi restaurant in Austin. Skip straight to Sake Social (happy) Hour for the best value on cocktails, sake, hand rolls, sushi and sharing plates. Be sure to get there a bit earlier at 4:45 PM to snag a spot at the sushi bar. ”

Restaurant de Burgers
“While Hopdoddy isn't exclusive to Austin, this is the first one we'd ever been to. With a line that can extend around the building, and plenty to do around SOCO before or after you've eaten, this burger spot is a local favorite and a must-visit. There are burger options for all (classic, specialty, and veggie), a great draft beer selection (if you like IPAs, go for the Conspiracy Theory), and their Parmesan Truffle Fries are incredible (invest in an extra Truffle Aioli sauce) or if you're feeling sweet/spicy, their Hot Honey and Sage sweet potato fries hit the spot.”

Café
“Located in a renovated historic home in the East Cesar Chavez neighborhood, Cenote specializes in high quality espresso and local fair trade coffees, but that isn't all this coffeehouse has to offer. The menu includes delicious pastries, breakfast and lunch sandwiches, salads and plenty of gluten-free options, all made with local organic ingredients. With great coffee, fresh food, and a comfortable atmosphere, Cenote is definitely worth checking out.”

Diner
“Just down the street from Allens is the South Congress location of Magnolia Cafe, known for its “Sorry, We’re Open” neon sign and 24-hour diner service. The original location opened as Omelettry West on Lake Austin Boulevard in 1979, and this beloved café has been an Austin favorite ever since. Barack Obama’s 2014 visit cemented the diner’s status as a local icon forever when he met a UT student for coffee there.”
