Parc
“One of the youngest park of Bucharest, good views, reasonably priced food stands which also sell beer, good for a quick visit before Parliament Palace. The land where is now Izvor Park have a tumultuous history, being destined by Ceausescu to another purpose. Here it was a demolition of a monastery and many houses, including an old palace, the Palace of State Archives. Ceausescu wanted to have here a Conference Room and Receptions, being very close to the People Palace - now the Parliament Palace. After the Revolution from 1989, after many purposes for this land, the General Town Hall of Bucharest decided to use this land for Izvor Park.”

Night Club
“Probably the biggest, boldest and best place on Strada Smardan. A casual mix of food and drink, Freddo is something of honey pot for Bucharest's sweetest bees. Open plan with glass on three sides as well as the roof the place looks fabulous, and hosts a variety of events from party nights to top DJ sets and live music. Now get there and enjoy sound cocktails, amazing pizza and decent salads. You might want to reserve at the weekends: this place is damn popular. Even opens early for bleary-eyed coffee the next morning. Perfect.”

Église
“Probably the most visited in Bucharest, the lovely Stavropoleos Monastery Church is truly a must if you’d like to explore one of the most remarkable religious monuments in the capital. The historic Stavropoleus monastery was founded by the Greek monk Ioanikie Stratonikeas in the early 18th century and reopened in 2008 after restoration works. Although small in size the church of monastery gives a sense of monumentality. It stands out for its originality and picturesque beauty, combining oriental traditions with western influences. The church preserves partially the interior and exterior frescoes. Monastery has a rich collection of rare icons, iconoclastic objects and old history and religious books. For visiting the museum of the monastery, a prior appointment is needed. You don’t want to miss the picture-perfect Stavropoleus monastery in Bucharest.”
