“Visit the most easterly point of Australia. The Lighthouse walk is a scenic hike that winds through rainforest, beach, grassland and cliff tops, ending at the Cape Byron Lighthouse. Keep an eye out for Wallabies, Dolphins and bird life. Take your swimming gear and stop off at Wategos for a swim on the way back. A 3.7km loop.”

“Fun, colourful, casual Mexican located in town on Jonson st. Great spot for lunch on sunny days & a lively happy hour. It can sometimes be a long wait for a table in the evening so give them your name and number and pop over to the beach hotel or the balcony for a drink and they will call you when your table is ready. My personal fave Crispy Snapper & mango naked burrito 🙌🏽 ”

Natural Feature
“Protected beach that has great swimming, amenities, frequented by a local pod of dolphins on any given day. This is a place for the rich and famous, a great spot to start the famous lighthouse walk to the most Easterly point in Australia, 100's of people walk this track daily, not for the faint of heart, lots of stairs. Saturday Mornings from 6am the 440 running club do laps of the Wategos hill if you are a fitness freak. Great accommodation and the renowned award winning Rae's on Wategos Restaurant for a posh lunch, or the outside downstairs now has cocktails and light snacks.”

“Special night out? Look no further than St Elmo’s - amazing food, and a sophisticated and intimate atmosphere. The only drawback is snaring a table as, even on a quiet night, St Elmo’s is often booked out, so remember to book early. Whether you start at the bar or head straight to your table for some of the Bay’s best tapas, you‘re assured of a fantastic evening at this superb venue. REMEMBER: Put on your best holiday outfit and head to St Elmo’s for a night to remember! Open 7 nights a week from 5 pm st elmos byron bay ”

Bed & Breakfast
“Offering sophisticated dining to kiosk takeaway, this award-winning restaurant and kiosk - almost on our doorstep - is a ‘must-visit’ on any trip to Byron. The restaurant has a spectacular panoramic view that takes in Clarkes Beach and The Pass and stretches to Julian Rocks in the distance. It is the only restaurant in Byron right on the beach. The restaurant has a smart-casual vibe and a great menu. It’s also a great place to head for coffee or a glass of wine and perhaps a shared plate - and a chat! The public beach-access path can be found to the left of the restaurant, when facing the sea. *Prefer takeaway? Sit at the outdoor tables under the trees. ‘Beach’ Kiosk serves takeaway coffee, tea, smoothies and snacks from early morning until late-ish, making this a great option for swimmer-clad eating on the way home from the beach. Or, do as the locals do: step inside and walk along the restaurant’s interior boardwalk to check the surf (and the view). Byron Council specially designated that this interior boardwalk, which is on the ‘town side’ (far left) INSIDE the restaurant, should remain free from tables and chairs so people can walk to the front of the restaurant to check the surf. Note: No wifi available in restaurant. ”
