Thank you Fergus and Anne. This was indeed a luxurious place to stay. We brought our bikes and had a fabulous time cycling around the lake and neighbourhood every day. Spotlessly clean and welcoming. We are planning our next visit already.

Fergus communicated with us as soon as we made the booking. We were going to Canberra for a specific event (Australian Running Festival) and he provided answers to all my questions about the unit and accessing the race venue. Our daughter is in the Elite running group and maintains a rigorous diet and excercise regime. Prior to races she prepares most of her own food so kitchen facilities are important. We did ask Fergus about where we could get a "healthy pre race breakfast" and his recommendation of Local Press was spot on. They were very busy with people waiting for a table to be vacated, but being a small group we were seated reasonably quickly. There are more units going up in the area so opening a cafe similar to Local Press would be a great business opportunity for someone. Shortly before our visit Fergus let us know he was unable to greet us personally because of a family event. He was most apologetic and sent us very clear, detailed instructions about how to access the unit. He also sent a detailed, thoughtful response to my question about restaurants and cafes in the area. On the day we arrived in Canberra Fergus phoned about 15 minutes after we got to the unit to check that everything was okay and that we had been able to access the unit. The unit and location were accurately depicted in the photos and description on the Airbnb website. It was exactly what we wanted: two bedrooms and two lovely bathrooms; open, light living space with a balcony; good cooking facilities and well equipped kitchen. Everything was very clean and the unit was tastefully decorated. One of the big advantages for us was the proximity of the unit to the main race venue (Old Parliament) lawns. It was a pleasant 25-30 minute walk, most of which was on the pedestrian/cycle path on the edge of the lake. Our daughter was able to walk to a pre race event for the Elite group on Saturday afternoon, do a warm up run to the venue the morning of the race and we were able to walk to the finish line. There are many tourist attractions within walking distance of the unit such as the National Art Gallery. We were also within walking distance to a supermarket for supplies. The location of the unit is excellent. It is right on the lake waterfront and is a few minutes on foot to the restaurant/cafe strip in Trevillian Quay. Sunday after the race we enjoyed a visit to the Bus Depot Market, which was just across from the restaurant strip. The unit would also be great for a more extended stay as it has a car space. The highlight of the trip was our daughter, Ruth, won the female event of the Marathon. She improved her PB by 8 minutes. It must have been the great accommodation!

The apartment hosted by Fergus was simply amazing. It was very clean upon our arrival and had everything we required including tea/coffee, shampoo, body wash etc. The inifity pool was just downstairs and was a great place to cool off after a hot day exploring. Just across the way are numerous restaurants, bars and cafes that serve a wide variety of food. Fergus was the perfect host and met us at the arranged time and showed us around the apartment and pointed out the best eateries. Nothing was a problem for him and he always responded to any queries very quickly. We would have no hesitation in recommending the apartment and would definitely stay here again. Thanks Fergus for a great apartment!

Fergus was very accommodating with helping us fit in our check-in with our busy schedule, which was fantastic. He was friendly and helpful, giving us a number of local tips for places to eat and drink. The apartment was very clean and comfortable and in a beautiful setting, with all the mod cons. We will definitely stay here next time we are in Canberra.

Ann and Fergus are fantastic hosts. Even with having to be out of the country they were readily available and touched base up to and during our stay with any questions we had. Their accomodation is second to none and will suit both business and holiday makers alike. The food options close to the accomodation are fantastic.

From our arrival to our departure and at all moments during our stay, our time spent at Chris' place was nothing short of delightful. The space was clean and cosy, but with enough room for all 8 of us to share the accommodation comfortably. The surrounding suburb is quiet but provides beautiful scenic views and easily accessible parks, which we found was a lovely way to spend the evening at sunset. It is also only a short drive to the main shopping centre, which was also ideal. Chris himself was a friendly host, who provided clear communication before, during, and after our stay which was truly appreciated. All in all, a great stay from a great host!

We really loved staying at Doug's place. It was even nicer than the photos, with lovely furnishings and little touches like plants and candles/candle holders to make the apartment feel homey. The location is great, the apartment is a generous size (when room sharing wasn't quite working out with our 4-year-old and 1-year-old, we were able to move our 1-year-old to the walk-in wardrobe in the master bedroom, so it was really great to have that option), it had everything we needed to look after our family (full kitchen, laundry facilities) and the whole place gets plenty of light throughout the day. We really appreciated Doug taking the time to show us around and explain how everything worked, and were very grateful for the milk, juice, fruit, cereal and other helpful things he provided. If we had an issue (which only happened once or twice), he was always on hand to help solve it. I highly recommend staying with Doug if you are ever in Canberra!

We had an excellent stay at Doug's apartment in Belconnen. The apartment is very neat and tidy. It was spacious and equipped with all that we needed for our stay. The bed was also very comfortable! The location was excellent being close to Westfields though we found it was better to travel to other suburbs like Dickson for dinner if we wanted to eat out. We would definitely recommend this apartment to others if they are looking for somewhere to stay in Canberra.

Although Nina and I didn't end up meeting David, his partner Shantara made us very welcome to their lovely Canberra home. Located in the heart of Canberra city, in a quiet street, we slept in a very nice and clean room, and certainly could not have wished anything more. We were very impressed with the vast range of breakfast and other items which Jenn had left, I have never had so much before and we loved the choice and the generosity. We did not want for a thing and were very comfortable in the spacious, comfortable apartment. We felt very secure and warm, even though we only had the air con on once, we were lucky with the weather. The location is brilliant, only five mins to Lonsdale Street cafes and bistros and 10 mins to the city Centre for shopping. Also I walked back from the Llewelyn Hall in 15 mins after a concert, so close to so much. Jenn was lovely and met us on arrival and told us where everything was. Unfortunately our plan for our tour through Australia only had 2 days planned for Canberra. Otherwise we would have definitely wanted to stay longer at Greg's! The Poolhouse is very cozy. Everything is cleans and towels as well as the bed smells wonderful. You feel just like home - with benefits from a hotel: Greg had prepared everything for our breakfast the next morning. There was even homemade Marmelade and fresh fruits waiting in the fridge for us! Also there were fresh flowers in both rooms. There is also a pool, unfortunately though we did not have the time to test it. It did look great, so I'm positiv you would enjoy it! Greg was a great host, even offered us to give us a ride and helped with our questions. The bus system in Canberra is a bit hard to understand for visitors (there are no maps or timetables at the stations), but Greg told us were to wait and which line to take. I think of you are there by car, it could be even better. Thank you very much, Greg! If we would come to Canberra again, we would definitely like to have you as our host again!

Downstairs from the main house, the flat is self-contained and has its own separate entrance. It has a bedroom, a sunroom/lounge, kitchenette and bathroom. Each room is clean and light. Offstreet parking is right outside . The flat has recently been renovated with a new kitchenette and up to date bathroom, and new floor and window coverings. As well as a bedroom, it has a lounge/sunroom providing space for relaxation. The flat is downstairs from the main house and is fully self-contained. Guests will have their own separate side entrance to the flat through a small courtyard which has a table and chairs for their use. Guests also have their own driveway for vehicle access and offstreet parking. The two of us occupy the main house upstairs and will generally be available to provide help on request. Apart from that, guests will be left to enjoy their privacy. Our suburb is a well established residential area with many trees. It is convenient to the city, main suburban shopping centres, Canberra's two main universities and Calvary Hospital. All of these can be reached within 10-15 minutes drive or a single bus ride. A walk along the nature strip behind our house will take you to expansive nature reserves with kangaroos and excellent views. Access to daily essentials shopping involves a 5 minute drive or a 15-20 minute walk to the nearest shopping centre (Jamison Centre or Belconnen Mall). At Macquarie Shops (3-5 minute walk) there is a large discount pharmacy and a good Vietnamese restaurant (Khin Do) but no grocery store and the cafe provides mediocre coffee (on last taste testing). Buses (no 40/940) to the city and main suburban shopping centres pass by our place and it is only a short 3 minute walk to the bus stop. Car rentals are available from the airport or the city. The flat is next to our undercover garage which we may use briefly to drive out and return, at reasonable hours. The flat is located directly underneath our kitchen and dining area, which means that guests will hear our movements when in these areas. We make a special effort to minimise our noise levels when guests are staying.lire la suite

Helen was friendly and welcoming. The flat was comfortable and well located in a quiet area not too far from shops. It was well equipped and kitchen very well stocked. We usually stay in motels in Canberra, but this is a much better option. We'll definitely return.

Our 3 night stay was an enjoyable Airbnb experience and found Helen's description and Guest reviews to be accurate. Helen is the Host all Airbnb Guests hope for, friendly, informative, has the accommodation in top order and an information booklet with everything you need to know about your stay. The extras didn't go unnoticed, thanks. Some knowledge of Convection Microwave oven would enhance your ability to prepare a meal. Very good bed, firm, our favourite. Quiet location and close to GIO Stadium and Westfield Belconnen which was helpful to us. Highly recommended.

Elizabeth kept in close contact by text message and so our arrival went smoothly. The unit is completely self-contained and so we were able to come and go as we pleased without disturbing anyone. There was milk in the fridge and tea and coffee in the well-equipped kitchen area. The little courtyard is a lovely spot, with washing line and garden furniture. The room is very convenient and we slept well in the comfortable bed. The neighbourhood is quiet, with a park at the end of the road.

Located half way between Sydney and Melbourne at the base of the pristine Snowy Mountains. Our farm stay is perfect for a family holiday, a friends' weekend away or a couples retreat. It is a great place to escape, relax and unwind. Located half way between Sydney and Melbourne this unique farm stay cottage is set on a beautiful 1000 acre working farm. There is also a small fig orchard where you can pick your own seasonal fruit straight from the trees. Moorallie is also the home of Phenwick Labradors and there are often new puppies to meet! Our horses are always looking for a pat, an apple from the orchard, and love meeting new people. A pool and tennis court are located at the main homestead a short stroll away and are available for guests to use at any time during their stay. We understand that our guests are on holiday and like to give them as much space as they need. lire la suite

We loved a truly tranquil, beautiful and relaxing break at Mooralie cottage. The setting is remote and peaceful and the facilities in the cottage were excellent. The unexpected added bonus for us was the fact there was no mobile reception! This is a major plus - a night of phone detox doesn't do anyone any harm! Unfortunately it was a stopover for us on a journey from Melbourne to Canberra, so we were not able to truly maximise the break. Adelong seems a nice little town so it's well worth making a weekend of it.

We had a lovely time. The husband was enamoured with the orchard, the kids with the puppies, and myself with the fresh air! The cottage was clean and charming; the amenities hotel-worthy; the hosts warm, welcoming and generous with their time, and the breakfast foods a lovely touch. One suggestion I have for improving the experience would be curtains over the double doors between the lounge and 'kids' room and the ability to close those doors firmly (so the adults can watch some of the great movies provided on the lovely big telly while the kids sleep). Thanks for a great stay.

I can only echo what everyone else has said. The cottage is exactly as it is pictured, situated in a picturesque valley with gorgeous views. It is equipped with every amenity and a wonderful farm fresh breakfast. It comfortably fit four adults and two kids. I would recommend this to anyone driving the Melbourne/Canberra or Sydney route. Hope to be back at the farm soon!

The town house was beautiful and indeed spacious. We stayed a long weekend in early winter and while it was cold outside - the ducted heating was VERY good. Beautifully furnished and clean. lots of seating and comfy beds. Its about 15-20minutes by car to the city centre but its easy driving. We would never had stayed in the Gungahlin area was it not for this Airbnb listing. The area is lovely and a dream for kids. There is a big 4.5km walking track which is PERFECT for scooting around the lake and kids playgrounds with a giant flying fox. The hosts respond to messages quickly and very friendly. Would definately recommend. Note: if mobility impaired - this would not be suitable as there is an initial long flight of stairs.

The residence provided by Mansour and Nasrin was exactly what we needed. Mansour and Nasrin are very friendly and informative eventhough we hadn't got there. The house is spacious, clean, and cozy. Unfortunately it was hot in the bedrooms because the weather was hot when we got there. The AC was in the living room only. Next to the house was a persian cafe and gallery (still belongs to the owner). So for moslems who want to stay here, you don't need to worry to find halal food. It's there! In the morning we can jog around the lake nearby and it takes only 20 minutes to go to Canberra City Centre.

Fantastic arrival with a roaring fire and Catherine was very warm and welcoming as she showed us around and left us to it. The house is very tidy and homely and it was great to spend some time out for a night in front of the fire. The kitchen was very well equipped with breakfast items (alas we didn't have time to partake) and the surrounds were very peaceful. When we arrived at destination, we discovered a very typical rustic cottage, with its old charm but with all the comfort you need. The cottage is practical and we had the chance to have the entire home for us. We stayed for one night only and we didn't had the chance to take a walk around the propriety but what we can say is that this is a great spot in the middle of the nature and a good place to stop on the road between Sydney and Melbourne. A good place to stay for the nature lovers !

Love this rural cottage so much. Wish we could've stayed longer. Very full equipped house and complete kitchen stuff. The hosts are very lovely and accommodating. When we arrived, they made their way to meet us and make sure everything is okay. They even allowed us to take photos of the rolled hay in their property and it was beautiful in the sunset. Overall, highly recommended. When you want to cut your travel from Melbourne to Sydney or Canberra, this place is the best.

What a beautiful and perfect stopover between Melb and Sydney/north coast. When I arrived it was pouring with rain but Catherine had the wood fire burning in the heater and lights on which was a cosy welcome after a long wet drive. She had given me clear and helpful directions to find the house once I turned off the highway. My dog was allowed inside and we had a walk around the house paddock. What a stunning setting - even in the rain! I will be stopping there on my way home too. Highly recommend.

What a lovely surprise on the Hume highway! Catherine and Mark ensured that our short stay was comfortable and very, very easy. We arrived at around 10:30pm but they made sure to have a warm fire and heaters ready for us upon arrival. Plus they left a nice breakfast for us to refuel before getting back on the road to Melbourne! Will definitely be back on our next trip. Thanks!

Along with two friends, I spent four days and nights at the Ainslie Art House in Canberra. It was a wonderful stay on every level. The house is really beautiful, comfortable and relaxing. The house has excellent kitchen facilities, ample room for sleeping, and a gleaming bathroom. Artwork and sculptures inside and in the garden add enormous style to the house. Such a beautiful stop. We stopped in on our way to Melbourne: arrived about 11pm but was easy to find with Jo's instructions and were grateful for the comfortable bed and cosy house. In the morning, I was up with my little one at 6.30am and the view on the verandah was spectacularly peaceful and pretty. Jo was very helpful and made contact before we arrived to make sure we knew exactly where we were coming to ( it is indeed 9.2km off the main road) . The cabin is delightful; spotlessly clean and fresh. Breakfast was included and much appreciated; make sure you bring food for the evening as there is nothing else around which is all par of the charm of the place. Beautifully designed and decorated inside and out. Perfect, Jo, thank you so much.

An adorable little cottage, perfect for those who want to break up a Sydney to Victoria journey. Rural cottage on the outside, charming country-chic on the inside, we were very impressed with the styling and attention to detail. The cottage had everything you need to cook dinner (you'll need to do this if your arriving at night). The accomodation includes breakfast supplies, including local eggs. I didn't meet Jo but we talked on the phone - she was very charming and made us feel very welcome. A super venue - We can't wait to come back in the warmer months and enjoy a G&T on the veranda.

The apartment is centrally located and easy to find. Peter was a pleasure to deal with and met us on arrival and explained the facilities, access and general area. The apartment was clean and well furnished and exactly as depicted in the photos. There were plenty of kitchen implements and the fruit and other goodies were a nice touch. The gym and pool were of a high standard and the complex was quiet (although it was the first week of January and there weren't too many people in Canberra). We enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this apartment.

This is a great centrally located apartment. Its easy to get to some wonderful restaurants, and to the shops and other conveniences. On the doorsteps of the University, its well set up, furnished, quiet and provides easy access if you want to head off to Canberra's museums, galleries and other entertainments. I would happily recommend for two couples.

I can't hide from the fact that the outside of my building is ugly! But you won't be disappointed once you walk across the front door. Conveniently located and completely renovated. Enjoy our comfortable 2 bedroom apartment for 2 nights or 2 months! With comfortable leather lounges, flat screen TV and DVD player and yummy soft throw blanket, you may never leave to explore Canberra. My unit has all the things you need to feel right at home including free WIFI. It offers 2 large bedrooms both with wardrobes for your clothes. The main bedroom has a Oh-so-comfortable queen size bed and the 2nd bedroom is furnished with 2 single beds. If you really need too; another person could sleep on the lounge using the extra blankets provided. My kitchen has all new appliances with stove, oven, microwave and fridge/freezer. A large breakfast bench with cool stools to seat you for casual meals and a compact dining setting for 4. The bathroom has also been given a complete facelift and is clean and I provide a washing machine & clothes dryer, for your use as well. With plenty of storage and an allocated undercover car space for your car (could actually fit 2 cars if squashed in close) I am sure you will love my unit as much as I do. I don't smoke but I don't mind if you do so on the lovely little balcony with it's own little outdoor setting. Please enjoy my home and my town. You can use anything within the unit and the allocated undercover car space for your vehicle. I'm overseas so you'll always will have the whole place to yourselves. Any interaction would be with my mum and dad (who have kindly offered to oversee this for me) . They are very cool and helpful so you can call them if you have any problems or questions. Hawker is a suburb of Belconnen with the local shops are just a very short walk from the apartment. Woolworths, bakeries, butcher, chemist and some good restaurants all at your fingertips. A licenced bowling club and soccer club also within walking distance with great bistros to choose from. It is located just 15 minutes drive to the city centre, all most major tourist attractions in the Capital. I supply all linen and towels you may need during your stay. Please use any of the small things I have left behind and if you finish something just leave a note for my parents so we can refill it.lire la suite

Kim was a great host. She communicated really well. Her apartment was beautifully appointed. Very modern / contemporary feel. Very relaxing stay. The apartment was close to some nice restaurants, shops and a service station which was handy. A 10-15 minute drive to Canberra Central which was great. I highly recommend her apartment..

Our family of 4 had a wonderful stay at Kim's place! The apartment is as described - newly renovated with everything you need for a comfortable stay (even fresh milk, little portions of jam and Vegemite and Weetbix!) It's very well located, close to shops and all the attractions in Canberra. Kim was very helpful and responded really quickly to questions. Would stay here again on our next trip! :)

Kim made sure that the unit was uniquely prepared for us and what we needed. All essentials plus more were provided and the description of the place matched it reality. Hawker is in an older area of Canberra but a suburb that is undergoing a second life and it is becoming highly sort after. There is a great little shopping centre close by, check out the fresh bakery.

Kim's communication was excellent, I knew exactly where to go and what to do. The apartment was perfect for our little family. The kids' room even had a few toys to discover. The apartment felt recently renovated, so we were extremely comfortable during our stay. Definitely staying there again.

We had a great time staying at Kim's apartment. Kim was responsive throughout and very accommodating about checking in after-hours. Unit was tastefully done up, user friendly and very comfortable. Nice quiet neighbourhood and only a short walk to shops. Highly recommended. A must stay again!

This was the second time that we have stayed at Kim's lovely apartment and once again we were not disappointed. Modern and clean and minutes away from the supermarket, bakery and restaurants. Not to mention only a 15 minute drive to Canberra city centre and all sightseeing attractions. Everything you need is in the apartment - crockery, cutlery, pots and pans, all bedlinen, plenty of towels, plus a washing machine and dryer. All you need to buy is your food. Lots of other thoughtful extras too! Kim's communication is great and we highly recommend her apartment to anyone wanting to stay in Canberra. Thank you again Kim.

Modern, self-contained, pool house, and working sheep/cattle property in a peaceful country setting, 20 minutes from Yass. Great water views overlooking Murrumbidgee River and exclusive use of swimming pool. Break your trip with your four legged friend/s.. or stay awhile. See the stars, and hear the silence. The space consists of a queen size bed with a modern ensuite bathroom, and a sitting area with a sink, refrigerator, microwave and stove. The cooking space is quite small and best for fairly basic food preparation. Also included is a TV. (32" flat screen) and a DVD player. There are ceiling fans if required and gas heating, and an oil heat bank heater for the cooler weather. A 'Tastic' heater is in the bathroom for extra comfort. Enjoy exclusive use of our 10m pool, BBQ and deck. We will take children, over 5 yrs old, who are able to swim, but would insist that parents supervise at all times. A futon or fold up bed is available as an extra bed, and the charge for extras per night is $30.00. You will find some up to date magazines to relax with while here, DVDs and complimentary chocolate. Our guests are welcome to use the swimming pool and deck with elevated views of the surrounding spectacular scenery. We endeavour to keep the pool sparkling, but cannot always guarantee perfection. No diving please, for your own safety. A BBQ is available for use on the deck. We provide old fashion country hospitality, and will be on site if anything is required, otherwise we will respect your privacy. We are always contactable. We're willing to help with advise and information on the local area for sight seeing or where to eat etc. A two course home cooked meal is available here for $35/person on request. It is served in your accommodation for you to relax and enjoy in peace. This is a peaceful rural working property, 20 minutes drive from the town of Yass, with great views of Burrinjuck Dam. It is within easy reach of Canberra for sight seeing. Ie The National Gallery of Australia, Australia Museum, The Arboretum, High Court of Australia, The National War Memorial, National Capital Zoo and Aquarium, Floriade to name a few. A good place to stay to break a long journey and see more than just a motel room. There is no public transport from Yass to our B&B . Continental breakfast is included, and if you require an evening meal, I can provide a two course dinner for $35/person.. Please give advance notice if this is required, preferably when booking. We are a pet friendly B&B, but expect your dog to be clean and obedient. We charge $10 extra for one dog/night, and $15/night for two dogs/night. We ask that you provide your pets bedding as they are not allowed on the bed or sofa under any circumstances. Please note that we do not have credit card facilities.lire la suite

Perfect in every way! Beautiful scenery. Amazing view. Awesome drive up! Jacquie made me an amazing roast lamb dinner followed by flour less chocolate cake - very reasonably priced. Bed was very comfortable - the place was in great condition and very well furnished. I could not ask for more on a long road trip - always try airbnb vs motel! AAA+++++

This is my favourite airbnb property!! Most of all the views are breathtaking!! It was a lovely country drive from the motorway and we were warmly welcomed on arrival by Jacquie and Tom who proceeded to show us around. This is such a beautiful and peaceful spot. The property is well equipped and we were very comfortable for our overnight stay - we both slept like logs!! The pool is an extra bonus, although we didn't get to try it out, and is a lovely spot for an early evening drink. I would love to stay here for a longer stay.

This is an oasis. Just amazing. The pool house is so well thought through. Everything you would ever need in a small space. Perfect for 2. The pool is warm. The view incredible. Jacquie is very helpful and friendly. To say this is unique is to understate this little gem. Do not hesitate to book this.... because otherwise someone else will!!!

Jacquie was a great host during our stay and her bnb was incredibly relaxing and picturesque. The continental breakfast gave a welcoming touch to our stay. Our two dogs got a long well with Tom the Labrador and they also enjoyed a cheeky dip in the pool with us! Overall it was a very enjoyable, clean and comfortable place and we would highly recommend Jacquie's hospitality and amazing bnb to all!

Jacquie was an absolute delight to deal with on all fronts! She replied quickly to all communication and was happy to accommodate our late checkin. The space is absolutely perfect for a little getaway, and includes all the comforts of home! We arrived at night, and woke to the most stunning views in the morning! I'd have no issues at all recommending Jacquie as a host, and I hope to stay again in the future!

Wonderful farm stay experience! Enjoyed meeting Diane & Dave, who are lovely hosts & made us feel very welcome. The cottage was very comfortable with plenty of room for x2 adults & x2 kids. Everything was well catered for, and the kids loved meeting all the animals! Thanks Dave for the time you took to educate the kids about the farm and the animals, it was much appreciated. I'd highly recommend this as a farm stay experience!

Diane and Dave did everything possible to make us welcome and comfortable. The directions were clear and the check-in was easy. We found the kitchen was well stocked with different breads, butter, jams and other spreads, breakfast cereals, milk, juices, soft drinks and fresh eggs from their own chooks. We did our own cooking and appreciated the kitchen with a large fridge and freezer. The beds and linen were also very comfortable - better than we get at home. The scenery on the farm is beautiful, just like the picture in the listing. The animals on and around the farm were really nice, especially for our kids. Dave organised a feeding of the Alpacas and cows for our kids to help with. There were also rabbits, kangaroos, donkeys (nearby) as well as may native birds. We visited during a cold snap, but the cottage was very warm. The reverse cycle air conditioner heated the whole house. There is also a wood burning pot bellied stove inside which is not necessary for warmth, but essential for toasting marsh mellows. For our kids (3 and 7 years) just being on the farm was entertainment enough.
