“A great day out for all the family. Discover the ancient history of Ireland & Wexford with little challenges on the way. Amazing workshops are run throughout the year - why not take a look at the schedule and book one before your stay. It also has a really lovely gift shop - perfect for bringing something nice back home!”

“This is a beautiful Elizabethan House that is still being restored. The grounds are peaceful and pretty with a fairy and Gruffalo wood walks. There is a play area, nice cafe, artisan workshops and for a small extra cost family archery with tuition. A lovely place to take children and adults of any age and it only costs the car park fee to get in.”

“The only garden in the country which is FREE. It was donated to the Office of Public Works by Corona North who planted it and designed it on her own. Her husband had to use a hunting horn to call her in from the garden!”

Farm
“This is a great little day out for children ( best suited for 2-10 years) there are plenty of little ride on tractors, cars and bikes for the little ones to ride on and abandon before picking up another. There are farm animals to meet and touch, go karts, a maze and a nice cafe among other things. It's not huge or full of high tech but my grandchildren love it.”

Jardin
“One of Ireland's outstanding gardens, a Robinsonian garden with some ancient oak forest. Lovely walks through herbaceous borders, round a lake, through an arboretum, down a wild, steep glen to the River Slaney, and back up the 'Hundred Steps' to the garden and impressive plant sales. ”

“The walled garden was built by the Colclough Family in the early Nineteenth Century. Restoration work began in July 2010 and the original layout of the garden has been reinstated as it was in the 1838. The main features of this 2.5 acre stone/brick lined walled garden include curved corners, two intra mural structures on the dividing brick wall which splits the garden in two sections, east and west. The walled garden is located at Tintern Abbey where you can also explore the wonderful Tintern Trails. With 5 different marked trails and an ever evolving woodland where there is always something new to see. You can also refuel yourself at the Tintern Abbey Tea Rooms.”

“A large dining room with some tables and some sofa / coffe table options. Nice for a relaxed meal, though service can be slow. Mount Wolseley is a nice spot to see, in any case, due to its beautifully manicured golf green.”
