Scenic Lookout
“No visit to Juneau would be complete without seeing the Mendenhall Glacier. If you don't have a car you will want to take a taxi or uber as the city bus lets you out about a quarter of a mile from the glacier. Take one of the many trails from the parking lot and enjoy the changing forests which have developed as the glacier recedes. ”

Tourist Information Center
“Go see the most iconic place in SE Alaska and stop in at the visitors center. Forest Service employees can answer your questions and guide you to appropriate trails ranging from easy to experienced hikers only. You can see bears, mountain goats, large granite boulders and best of all the glacier. You do not want to miss this while you are here. ”

Place to eat
“Mt. Robert's Tramway yields breath taking aerial views from about 1800 feet up Mt. Roberts. Take the tram up, and if you're wanting a hike, hike the rest of the way up the mountain (perhaps up to the cross, or up to the peak if you want to go hard.) There's a restaurant up there and a giant gift shop. The views are the big reason to go up!”

Autres grands espaces
“The National Shrine of St. Therese is one of Juneau's hidden treasures, 22 miles from downtown Juneau. Walk across a causeway to a simple stone church hidden in the woods on an island with astounding views of Lynn Canal fjord to understand the peace and beauty of this holy place, dedicated to St. Therese of Liseux, the "little flower".”

Trail
“Located in a lush mountain valley, this trail starts in downtown Juneau and winds up through the mountains. There are several trails that branch off of it. A short and easy planked trail called "The Flume" is located near the trailhead for this.”

Parc
“This is the one and only beach to take the little ones so they can walk in the sand. "Sandy Beach" is how the locals know this area. There is a play area and covered shelters (available to rent). It is also the access point to the historic Treadwell mining area (where do you think the sand came from).”
