Restaurant de fruits de mer

“Sea food lovers, its a MUST for the best in town. The best time to go to Ramiro is at five in the afternoon. There, when the big lunches are over, it's still not the time for the English to dine and the Portuguese are thinking about going there for an afternoon snack (but do not divulge this secret, please). When you leave, you will even laugh at the queue. Must try: the clams the Bulhão Pato way - with toasts full of butter, obviously.”

“The newly opened food court on the 7th floor has some of Lisbon's best chefs -- the view is nicer and it's less busy than the Timeout Market (Mercado da Ribeira) and there is even our favourite ice cream place Nannarella!”

“Praça do Comércio (Commerce Square) used to be the location of the royal palace, until it was destroyed in 1755 by the Great Earthquake. The royal family moved to another residence in the district of Belem, and the new arcaded buildings became the entry port of the city. Its north side hosts a triumphal arch and one of the city's legendary cafes, Café Martinho da Arcada, a favourite for writers Fernando Pessoa, Almeida Garrett and Eça de Queiroz. The centre of the square boasts the statue of King José I, which is 14 meters high”

“The Carmo Convent is a powerful reminder of the 1755 earthquake. The walls of this Gothic church remained standing, but the roof and arches collapsed. It is best to visit the church in the early morning while the sun illuminates the deserted floor, giving it a contemplative air.”

“Another ultra-cool rooftop space opens in Lisbon. This time in Martim Moniz with extraordinary views of Lisbon, from São Jorge Castle and Mouraria, to the viewpoints of Graça and Senhora do Monte. Topo is sure to become the classic spot for after-work drinks, sunset dinners and evening cocktails.”

“Casa Independente is right in the middle of Largo do Intendente, in a charming old palace building. This place is a mix between alternative and fancy. You will find several rooms for different vibes. If you want to have tea, there is a room for that. If you want to smoke while watching the cool people there, there's a cozy patio. And last but not least, there is the Tiger Hall, that's where all the dancing happens. It is a concert hall that looks super cool with nice music.”
