“Trying to classify the food at Cardon y el Tirano is nearly impossible, especially because chef/owner Francisco Anton doesn't label his cuisine. But the eatery is truly a find. Tucked away in a strip mall, the small dining room holds no more than ten tables, yet the menu offers a seemingly never-ending number of plates. Whether you order the Asian-style lechón dumplings ($11) or the Venezuelan-inspired arepitas ($4), you are sure to be transported to another part of the world.”

Cafe
“Everyone loves a good comeback story, especially if it’s the return of one of Miami’s most beloved doughnut shops. Velvet Crème—which had a Little Havana store that shuttered in 2000 after more than 50 years in business—returned to Calle Ocho after a brief stint as a food truck. Its classic red-and-white decor has undergone slight updates, but its menu picks up right where the original left off: with classic glazed doughnuts, soft-serve ice cream and fresh-brewed coffee.”

“Keeping the tradition of smoking pork, this is some of the best Miami has to offer. Don't skip the candied bacon. I repeat, don't skip the candied bacon.”

“Sentir Cubano is an awesome store in Miami that features all sorts of Cuban items from money to shirts making fun of Castro to even jewelry. The staff is super friendly and they have just about anything you are looking for even books on Cuba and if they don't have it i am sure they will look for it. Small store jammed packed with items so getting around the store can be little difficult but worth a visit. ”

“You can find anything from medicines to food and wine. It is right around the corner of the building. As you exit the building take a right, go to stop sign, make a right, and at the light make a left. It will be on your right hand side. It is within walking distance from the building. Very budget friendly. ”
