  • I will start by saying, this cabin is in a wonderfully secluded area of the country -- and, most importantly, it is what you make of it. My fiancé and I made a trip out here over the weekend and definitely enjoyed ourselves, but we have to say we felt pretty misled by the pictures and listing description (which I will elaborate on below). I read the previous reviews before heading out in order to know what to pack, so we brought camping necessities, as folks suggested; we packed pillows (HIGHLY second this suggestion), a double-sleeping bag, a blanket, layers, non-perishable groceries, and a deck of cards. Our water bottles were only halfway full since one of the photo descriptions specifies there are jugs of drinking water... But we immediately discovered that this wasn't the case. There was zero running water, too, so the dishes that had been left out were dirty and only cleansed by the rain. The "well-stocked pantry" of spices and cooking ingredients was super dusty - and pretty empty, actually. The frying pan was too rusted to use, and cutting board was as dirty as the dishes. The pictures make the cabin look a lot bigger than it is, so definitely note that it is TINY. This wasn't an issue for my fiancé nor I, as we were petite people who don't require much space, but we were surprised. It's definitely not the kind of space you can really "hang out" in, so plan to spend the brunt of your time on the little cement area out front. Maybe I misread at one point that the property could be explored a bit, so I also intended to hike a little, but it's not really a scenic spot to walk around. It's basically in a forest, which is nice in that it's a perfect getaway, but I wouldn't call it picturesque. Like I said, we made the most of our visit, and we ended up having a grand ol' time, but I do wish I had been more prepared for what the stay would entail (and thus what we should have packed more of)... The final bit of unfortunate news was that Donal never once checked in with me. I contacted him two hours prior to check-in to let him know we were on our way - and again an hour before the checkout time to let him know the cabin was empty - but received no response. He didn't warn me that there wouldn't be any water, either, so we had to walk down to the house to ask where we could fill up our water bottles... The host's wife was kind, but seemed a little bothered that we inquired. By far the best part of the cabin was the wood-burning stove, which Alex and I loved chopping and kindling wood for. We made vegetable kebobs for diner and s'mores on the gas stove, slept well, and reveled in the quiet that the woods offered us....

  • It was a nice quiet stay.

  • My friend and I spent two nights in the Red Cabin. Although it rained a lot while we were there, we still had a lot of fun hanging out. The cozy cabin allowed us to escape from the rest of the world; no phone signal and no Internet. There was a friendly cat that came to hang out with us. This cat is way too cool. We named him Outlaw da Kat. Here are some things that you might consider bringing: (1) A flashlight for when you go to use the toilet in the back at night. (2) Wet wipes and paper towels. (3) Ear plugs. The goats go wild from 7 to about 11 at night. They didn't bother me; in fact, I thought they were fun and funny to listen to. However, if you are a light sleeper or if you don't find goat sounds humorous, you might not like it so much. (4) Blankets/sleeping bags. It got pretty (EMAIL HIDDEN)munication with the host was great. They are a very cool family :)

  • The green cabin was awesome! It really feels like you are in a forest. My friend and I had been camping and hiking for almost 3 weeks, so we were happy to be able to sleep in a bed and take a shower. Donal's home was amazing as well with goats, his adorable family, geese, chickens, and garden and lots of other stuff. Easily would recommend.

    Madeline2016-06-09T00:00:00Z
  • Accurate listing.

  • Donal is a very nice host. He welcomed us on the day of arrival and answered mails very quickly. Staying in the green cabin was a new camping experience. The tiny house is out in the green woods and having dining, kitchen and toilet outside feels like comfortable camping. Having wifi by the parking lot helps to plan trips.

    Green Cabin in the Woods

We have a studio apartment with a private entrance and off-street parking. The house is across the street from lovely Lake Sacajawea in Longview, Washington, a city built in 1923 as part of the City Beautiful movement. You can take a pleasant walk around the perimeter (3+ miles) or part of the lake. For those in the traveling medical field, we are a short distance from the hospital which is on the opposite side of the lake.
The house was built in 1981 from salvage from the eruption of Mt St Helens. Our family had a cabin on the north fork of the Toutle River which was washed away in the debris flow. My dad was eligible for what was then a low-interest loan (8 1/2%) from the government and built the house next to our own home. My uncle had timbered property that had to be cut because of the inundation of ash and gave Dad permission to take whatever Weyerhaeuser left behind. He knew a guy with a portable sawmill nearby and they milled all the lumber by hand. Then Dad, who was distinctly NOT handy and in his 60s, built the house with the help of a brother-in-law in his late 70s. Incredibly, they pulled it off, and it is now being visited by people from all over the world.
We are right across the street from Lake Sacajawea, a long narrow lake and park that is 3+ miles around its perimeter. We have two cruiser bikes available (one male and one female) if you'd like to ride around the lake.
  • Great mattress and very quiet. Good location. Close to Sacajawea Park, a nice place for a morning walk. Kitchen included full-sized ref and stove + toaster, microwave and coffee maker. Bureau for clothes storage, no closet. Nice combination of overhead and task lighting, so had the option for cozy lighting.

  • Lovely accommodating hosts. Great value, I'll book again. I chose these hosts, because of their dedication to a healthy environment and the great location. They were very helpful and easy to deal with. Thank you!

  • What an awesome studio in a great location! Everything you need and more for an overnight or extended stay- and right across the street from Lake Sacajawea, Longview's gem! I'm coming back soon and can't wait!

  • Kathleen has a wonderful apartment that is perfect for a long term stay. Check in is very easy. She provided excellent instructions. It can be done without the host present. Kathleen's house is across the street from the nicest city park I have seen. It was perfect for my last pre marathon run, just under four miles without leaving the park. Be sure to ask Kathleen for her fascinating connection to the Mount Saint Helens eruption. I wish I could have stayed longer.

  • This is a sweet spot across the street from the lake in Longview. It was easy, accessible and had all the basics we could need, including a microwave! I enjoyed my stay and would stay here again if I needed a place in Longview.

  • If you are in the Longview for any reason do yourself a favor and consider staying in Deja Vu tiny home. You will not be sorry! My husband and I were in town on business and we had the pleasure of staying in this immaculate, beautifully decorated tiny house. They are gracious hosts and they paid attention to every detail needed to make a stay comfortable.

  • Yvonne and her husband have gone above and beyond to make their place beautiful, comfortable, and charming. From their warm welcome to the perfectly put together tiny home to their big hot tub, I couldn't have asked for a better stay.

    Julia2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • This is an amazing spot! They have access to a hot tub and a disc golf course, although we got in too late to enjoy either. This tiny little paradise is so well kept and clean. There is the utmost care put into every little detail. I have been traveling for a week and this was the most I felt at home. I would definitely recommend this to anyone that was passing thorough or staying a while. I really liked the fountain that was in between the tiny home and their residence, I didn't feel like I had to whisper, it was a beautiful noise canceler. The walkway to the door was so pretty at night, it felt like the patio to a wedding. The wifi is really good which is an added bonus!

  • Second time back to Deja Vu because - that's how great it is. One visit lets you know it's a great place to return to. • This was our second stay at Tina's place and everything was great again. Tina welcomed us and the room was clean and very comfortable. Had a good nights sleep in the queen bed. Really appreciated being able to use the full second kitchen for our breakfast . Bathroom was very clean and had all the amenities needed. Would highly recommend Tina's place and plan to stay again when in the area.

  • This is a simple stay - there are two converted bedrooms downstairs in a house, with a shared bathroom. The room I stayed had the bed, a luggage rack, closet and a side table and lamp. The bedding was clean and there are basic amenities in the bathroom. The price is fair - if you are traveling and need a room to lay your head, this is fine.

This secluded condo is the top floor of my house, ideal for couples with small children and/or pets, business travelers and vacationers. Location is within minutes of shops, amenities and hospital and ideal for long-term stays for contract workers. Access to Park Hill Drive is a cul-de-sac. The master bedroom is spacious, tastefully decorated and very comfortable. The loft has a comfortable bed for an additional guest. There is a large kitchen dining area, sitting room with office workspace.
The bedroom has it's own private bathroom and sitting area for morning coffee and a glass of wine in the evening. There is a TV screen and WiFi access. There is a couch which can easily accommodate a small child but guests with babies and/or toddlers will need to provide their own crib and there is plenty of room. Pets are welcome but guests must provide a bed. The garden is not fenced so pets must be on a leash at all times at the front of the house but the back deck works well as a safe place for a dog to be outside. Guests are requested not to leave their pet alone in the house when they are out.
Park Hill Drive is an established neighborhood and adjoins several loops of houses making it perfect for early morning strolls and dog walks. There is very little traffic because of only one access making it safe, quiet and secluded. The neighbors vary from young families to single occupancy and retirees. Most neighbors, including myself, have lived in this neighborhood for many years.
  • You could not ask for a better stay than with Ann in Longview. Her lovely home is light and open, complete with a private back patio entrance, a luxe bathroom, and breathtaking views from almost every room. The neighborhood is safe and quiet, it feels remote from the town, but it conveniently right off the main road. Ann was an impeccable host, inviting me out to $1(!) Yoga and her favorite coffee and wine shops. She also gave me all the space I desired. If you're in Longview, this is the place to stay.

    Abigail2016-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Ann's place is spacious and comfortable, an excellent value in this area. Everything was exactly as described when we arrived - clean and well-supplied for guests. We were out and about quite a bit, but when we met Ann, she was friendly and accommodating. We would absolutely stay here again.

    James2017-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Anna's place felt like a combination of a Swiss chalet, an Antique/Curio shop and a green house. It had many large of windows and a large balcony looking which looked out through moss covered trees down into the valley below. It was spacious, clean, and charming with all her antiques and art. She has a huge master bedroom with a full bath and a single bed in the loft with a full bath in the down stairs hall for that person. There also plenty of room for other people in the great room / sun room over looking the valley. Plus there is another whole large apartment downstairs. The kitchen was large and functional and she left us with everything we needed to make ourselves at home. Anne herself was always so charming when we'd speak on the phone. She is truly a well educated and well traveled citizen of the world.

    Eric2016-12-13T00:00:00Z
  • I was looking for a quiet place to call home base while I explored the surrounding mountains, coast, and cities. Anne was flexible, easy to get a hold of, and informative; her place was central, affordable, and comfortable, it fit my need perfectly!

    Bonnie2017-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • Ann's house is nestled in the trees. Among the birds and squirrels. The room where I stayed had a porch that was enclosed and looked out the back into the woods, It felt very much like a tree house. There is no cable TV. You need to bring a computer to hook into the TV. Not really a problem because the house is full of peace and serenity. It was great to be away from news and politics.

    Susan2017-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • We wish Ann well on her path. We are grateful. Highly encouraged us to continue using Air bnb.

    Janet2017-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • Ann is a sweet and spunky lady. Her room and home are lovely. She has thought of all the little details to make your stay very comfortable.

    Pola2017-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • Tranquil enough to rest deeply and savor the goodness this house has to offer. I would recommend Ann's place in a heartbeat. Gracious host, quiet, lovely surroundings.

  • Heike place is cozy and comfortable. It was the perfect pit stop before hiking Mt St Helens. Loved the fresh eggs for breakfast too!

    Staci2017-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • Heike is a delightful hostess. My husband and I enjoyed our conversations with her. What a treat to get breakfast with freshly laid eggs!

    Cindy2017-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was very nice. The property was very nice and it was in a good location, secluded but near enough to town.

    Sam2016-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed with Heiki for one night as part of a cycle tour around the US and had a lovely time. Her hosting was thoughtful, her house is beautiful and full of character, and I had a wonderful time there. Heike went out of her way to have food in the oven for me, make iced tea and have the shower ready and hot - the perfect things for a tired cyclist. And she's a good cook too, with freshly laid eggs to use up. Unfortunately, I was out of season for the spoils of her orchard, but I'll have to come back when the rainier cherries are ripe. The house is lovely - it's not a dull motel room, it's a lovingly decorated and lived-in house. The room was large, perfect and the bed one of the comfiest I've ever slept in. Heike was interesting and pleasant to talk to and as a tourist looking to experience US culture and life, I couldn't ask for more. I loved hearing about her life (and chickens!). I would 110% definitely recommend Heike's place and will definitely stay there again if I'm in the area.

  • Thank you! We loved our stay at your beautiful home!

    Jon2016-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • Heike is a super host! I was on a work trip and she made sure the coffee was ready for me each morning at 5. The pets are so friendly! The kitties were a delight and the dogs friendly. The pets and Heike made me feel so welcomed.

    Geene2017-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Heike's place was as she described and that's why we chose her home. If you are an "animal "person, you'll love it, if not best to move on. You have to love someone that even names their chickens. It has the country feel but close enough to explore southern Wash or northern Oregon. We shared breakfast in the morning including eggs from "Heike's Happy Hens". She made us feel as if we were staying with relatives (but not the annoying kind). The bed was comfy and she had a room A/C in the room but the evenings were cool and it was not needed.

    Dan2017-07-11T00:00:00Z
  • Heike was great, we just adopted a dog sort of unexpectedly so we had to cancel our previous airbnb and she was the best one we found that was pet friendly. Apparently we were the first ones to bring a pet to her house. She was very friendly and helped us find the place even though we arrived rather around 9:00 and our new dog was pretty loud at night but she was very accommodating. We had a great time and would love to go back!

A great getaway! Cute, cozy, rustic remote farmhouse with at home amenities overlooking Columbia River. Wonderful patio with great views of river and Mt. St. Helens. Away from the crowds but close enough for some fun too. Family-friendly (maybe not young kids), pet friendly and just a great place to relax and get away. Great for couples, solo getaways, or a group of great friends. Close to fishing with the Columbia only a few miles away. And a great artist/author retreat as well!
Super quiet - no cars, planes, fire engines House is cozy and comfortable All the at home perks, fully equipped kitchen, claw foot tub, wood burning stove, outdoor firepit, enclosed porch. Great common and private spaces Beautiful sun and moon rises Great view of the Columbia Close to Portland, but far enough away Ocean beaches are about an hour away Astoria is about 60 miles with amazing fishing Columbia River is a few miles down the road with awesome fishing
It's a county road off the main highway. A few working farms but mostly residential. Very quiet - so loud parties are not allowed please. It is definitely a social place though, we just would prefer to raging parties.
  • Very enjoyable stay at the Farmhouse, as it is tucked away in a very beautiful place with a view of the river. Home has lots of character, and is very well equipped.

  • We had no problem finding this house Liz's directions were very clear and precise. When we arrived and entered the house we felt very comfortable and the caretaker had built us a fire which made the house very welcoming. House is super cute and a good size for a group of 6, very functional. Beds were the most comfortable I've ever experienced in a vacay house! Beautiful view of the Columbia river from the kitchen window. Nice size yard with fire pit, which we utilized both nights of our stay even though it was raining one of the nights. What a gem this lil place is! It's obvious the owner really cares for it. Will be back for sure.

Our beautiful 400 square foot guest suite has a super comfy Beautyrest Classic pillowtop mattress, unique stone fireplace with insert, kitchenette with bar, HD TV with cable and Blu-ray player, wi-fi access, laundry room with garment rack, private bath and fenced backyard. This ground-floor suite is fully self-contained and has a private entrance.
We are fans of Elvis Presley, so the suite is themed as such - containing rare photos, memorabilia, and a collection of his movies you can enjoy!
Your suite is located one minute from I-5 and a gas station with convenience store and deli. You can walk to the nearby Subway sandwich shop, a delicious local pizza place, a Mexican restaurant, frozen yogurt, and a sprawling park on the river. Even more dining, shopping, and entertainment options are just minutes away in Kelso and Longview. You're less than an hour from Downtown Portland, only 70 minutes from Astoria or Mt. St. Helens, 100 minutes from Seaside or Long Beach, and just over 2 hours from Downtown Seattle. This is a perfect stop in the middle of everything. Crash here for the night or stay awhile and explore beautiful Southwest Washington!
  • Jayna's place is just as described! This is a terrific value: you have your own bedroom, bathroom, laundry, deck, and backyard. Bonus as well to have a separate entrance. Jayna, Kevin, their son, and especially Frosty were wonderful to meet. Highly recommended!

  • Excellent value. Super clean. Very friendly hosts. Loved the Elvis touch! Everything you'd want in a nice place to stay. Was our first bnb experience and was great!

    Chris2017-11-20T00:00:00Z
  • The AirBnB is quiet, cozy, inviting and warm. Jayna lives in a quiet neighborhood. My pups and I enjoyed a walk around the neighborhood when we arrived but I think they enjoyed the fenced backyard even more! My pups slept in crates and I completely passed out in the comfortable bed. I was their for a dog event so having easy access to town was a must as the hours are long. Thank you for being a wonderful host! Cheryl, Cooper and Sammie Mae

  • We enjoyed our stay at Jayna and Kevin’s place. It’s convenient and cozy, and had everything we needed as well as thoughtful touches such as a suitcase rack and selections of snacks and toiletries. The Elvis theme includes artwork, memorabilia, even an Elvis keychain! Everything was nice and new and super clean. The bed was really comfortable and the electric fireplace kept us toasty. It was great to have a fenced yard for the dogs to explore and a large covered porch outside our door (especially since it was raining). We appreciated being able to use the washer and dryer, too. The neighborhood is very quiet, safe and convenient to the freeway, and the family was friendly and welcoming. Great value!

  • This place is an awesome location with a great space to just hang out with family. Lots of sleeping accommodations, great kitchen that is well-equipped for all your family cooking needs, plentiful linens and great suggestions for things to do around the area. Check in and out were easy and the location is easy to find. Although we didn't meet Jennifer in person this weekend, she was great with communicating and we had no troubles.

    Sue2017-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • Jennifer's place was extremely peaceful and relaxing. We were able to enjoy coffee along the river bank while watching eagles soar above.

  • A good place to relax.

  • This was a great place to stay. Its actually my dream house. The location is very safe and quiet and out of town. The goats are adorable. There was lots of room and lots of different places to sleep even though its a small one bedroom. Its is remodeled and nice. The communication with Jennifer was fast and she is very nice.

    Breeze2016-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • This place was perfect for us. We were a group of 4 doing a guided fishing trip on the Kalama. The modern/rustic decor was fun (especially loved the huge walk in shower with smooth cobblestones under your feet), and the fishing from the deck was great, too! My husband caught a nice little springer. The goats were fun to watch and feed. I will be booking here again.

    Shannon2017-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed for a few days while in town visiting family. The house was very clean and had everything we could possibly need to feel at home. The house was safe for our toddler to run around. The goats were awesome and my son looked forward to feeding them everyday. Jennifer was quick to answer emails and made sure we had everything we needed for our stay. We will definitely stay here the next time we are in town. Thanks Jennifer!

  • For anyone visiting the area you can not pick a better house. The location was perfect for a relaxing stay. It was close enough to Mt. Saint Helens for a great day trip. The house was furnished beautifully with all the right touches to make you feel at home. If we ever cone back to the area we would definitely rent again from Jennifer.

My place is good for couples and solo adventurers.
We have two rooms available for AirB&B guests. They will share a bathroom and the kitchen/common area.
Longview is located on the Columbia River. Mt St Helens sits in our backyard about one hour drive. Portland, Oregon is a 1 hour drive We live in a very nice, wooded neighborhood with 50 acres of maple forest behind us. A logging road exists about 80 yards from our front door and runs back into the forest.
  • I had a great stay at Tina's. The room was perfect for my quick overnight trip and I had everything I needed. I love the location and it was easy to park right outside. Looking forward to visiting again!

    Melissa2017-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Stayed 9 nights as I was in town for a short job , what a value. Half the price of the cheapest motel and four times more comfortable. Super clean and comfortable.

  • Great place for visiting Mt. St. Helens and close to Portland. Good directions and easy to get to. Great kitchen with everything you need. It is used by other guests and hosts and the walls are a bit thin so not as private and quiet as some places but very nice and a great deal for the price.

    jan2017-06-21T00:00:00Z
  • Tina is very helpful and nice person, prior my arrival she has provided information that exceeded my expectations. Her husband is also good person, it was really nice to talk with him. House is clean and everything is on place there. I was supprised that separate kitchen with living room is available for guests. In my opinion it is better to take that location than hotel.

Road tripping through western Washington or Oregon? We are just a hop & skip off Interstate 5 at exit 30. Join us for a comfy, relaxing reprieve from your travels. You can kick-up your feet inside and enjoy the view, or stretch your legs with a walk around Kalama and our newly renovated riverfront park & marina. Check out the worlds tallest Totem Pole ... carved from a single tree! If you are traveling through the area by train, we'd be happy to pick you up at the train station in Kelso.
The front stairway leads up one flight to where the bedrooms are located to the left, and the kitchen/family room is to the right. There are plenty of books, games, binoculars (river watching) and a large flat-screen TV with blue-ray player and access to an Amazon Fire TV player. There is also a CD player and a large selection of CD's. There is wi-fi available and USB chargers in case you forgot yours.
Kalama was first settled by Native Americans, particularly members of the Cowlitz Indian Tribes. The first white settler recorded was in 1853. In early 1870, Northern Pacific Railway scouts came to Cowlitz County to find an ideal terminus along the Columbia River.
  • We were the first guests in the place and we loved it. Location is great 5 min. walk to downtown, shops and restaurants. The space is clean, cozy and we had all second floor to ourselves. They are very friendly hosts, we had nice few hours visit with them with shared wine and appetizers. Highly recommended staying here.

  • Best place we've stayed yet! We stayed here on our way up to Mount Saint Helens and couldn't have been happier this choice. Karna & Dwayne went above and beyond to make our stay feel at home. Their house is beautiful and the upstairs apartment was very clean and comfortable. They made sure we had a great stay in Kalama. If you're in the area, I highly recommend staying with them!

    Jacey2017-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • Karna and Dwayne were absolutely lovely— they made us feel right at home and gave us the warmest welcome. It felt like we were friends staying for the night, not strangers. Dwayne also baked cookies and left some for us! The space is nice, open, and stylish. The huge T.V. and kitchen tools were also a plus! The location was a perfect stop for our day trip to Halloweentown!

    Leilani2017-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Karna and Dwayne provided a stunning and cozy place to stay on a rainy fall night! We were greeted with a friendly smile and homemade cookies to stay in the beautifully decorated guest quarters which provided a gorgeous view of the river, and an amazing stock of movies, music, coffee, and tea. Their home is an ideal place to stay that is within walking distance of downtown Kalama. We would recommend this place to anyone and we hope to stay there again!

    Gabby &2017-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • Plenty of space in the home, convenient location to the interstate. Hosts were easy to communicate with and made me feel at home. You will hear trains, boats, and cars if you have the windows open; at night with the windows closed it wasn't an issue at all. I definitely recommend staying here.

    Gary2017-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommend staying here if you are in the area. We arrived late, were greeted personally by the hosts, given a tour of the space, and even given homemade cookies to enjoy. The personable approach, as well as the decor, the location, and the amenities make the value of this home spectacular. The home sits on a hill overlooking the Columbia river. While we missed the sunset personally, it would be spectacular to see from their home. They have an unobstructed view. The rooms are spacious, the beds are comfortable, the linens are very soft and fluffy. The space feels like home, and the hosts make it even more personable. We'll be back!

    Melissa2017-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • Great place! Huge accommodations...bigger than an apartment I use to live in! All inclusive kitchen, living room, full bath and two bedrooms. We really felt like we had our own space yet enjoyed visiting with Karna and Dwayne too. A nice quiet neighborhood yet it's literally 1 minute off of I-5. Portland is close by to the south and Longview minutes to the north. We enjoyed thrift shopping in Longview as well as walking along the Columbia river on the new Kalama waterfront. We'd never spent time in this area before but will definitely return!

Riverfront vacation home in Columbia River boating, salmon fishing and nature viewing area, A favorite Seattle-Portland weekend escape. Boat ramp-dock (10 ft). All water sports, fishing and hiking. Fiberoptic internet. DirectTV, Netflix. Retreat here for just quiet view of river, wildlife, sunsets and Mt. St. Helens; NEED A LARGER PLACE for business or reunions accommodations? See our Sportsman Paradise Annex house which sleeps/feeds 15 guests.
The house is fully equipped with all clean linens and hotel type toiletries upon arrival. Daily made service is not provided but available. A full kitchen is provided including many of the condiments you might need. Check our stock of ketchup, mustard, steak and fish seasoning, spices, olive oil and mayo type condiments before bringing your own. People tend to leave what they don't need there for the next group. But the local Safeway grocery is only 10 minutes in Clatskanie and open until 11:00PM. The fourth bed is a queen pull out in the den room. The deck is great for: entertaining with a gas barbecue, toasting the sunsets, or watching the waterfowl and eagles. Life jackets and a few fishing poles are available. This is our Columbia river guest house which has never had a permanent resident since new, but we would love to share it with you. Secluded but only, 1 hr from Portland Airport and 45+ min to (URL HIDDEN) historic Astoria Oregon, and Washington beach and coastal towns, for day trips. Weekenders from Seattle really enjoy a few days of escape here.
This is a rare rural-farm neighborhood area on the lower Columbia where the homes are total river front without crossing a road to get to the river. Your dock starts 30 feet from the house front door. Paved roads are available for country biking (but no bike lanes), and you can hiking within our 100 acres of foothill timberland providing outstanding views.
  • This listing was perfect for our requirement specially since we were exhausted after our full day trip to Mt. St. Helen. The house was clean and welcoming; everything mentioned in the listing and more was there and all seven of us felt relaxed, at ease and happy to be there. Thank you James.

  • Enjoyed a very comfortable stay. The house is well-appointed and it is in a peaceful and relaxing setting on the river. Jim was a very helpful host.

  • This home was one of the best I have ever rented. The setting is very beautiful with easy access to the river and plenty of parking for all your vehicles and toys. The birds are very entertaining to watch. This house is very nicely decorated with many beautiful pieces of art. The split level gives plenty of privacy for couples to have their own space. This comfortable home was supplied with everything needed like spices and coffee filters and lots of condiments in the fridge which you don't usually have available in rentals. It's a short ride into town with options for dining, groceries and antique shops to poke around. Can't go wrong at Sportsman Paradise.

  • This place is BEAUTIFUL! I decided on James place because of the view but honestly the pictures don't do the views justice. The whole house was immaculate and super clean. James checked in periodically to make sure we were comfortable. We only stayed two nights but it is an experience we will not soon forget.

    ruth2017-04-01T00:00:00Z
  • The perfect place to unwind and relax. Wish we could have stayed longer. We bbq'd and ate outdoors on the deck while enjoying ospreys, the river, Mt St Helen's view, and sounds of nature only. Scenic, quiet small-farm area along the Columbia River. House is very comfortable, space to spread out upstairs and down, well-equipped kitchen so making our own meals was easy. We even made it to the coast one afternoon - Pacific Ocean (beach) and town of Astoria are about an hour away. James was a very gracious and welcoming host, dropping by to welcome us and see if we needed anything even though he was traveling the same evening; also prompt in answering questions we had.

    Ruth2017-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • Just wow! Saving this place for all future visits to the area. Beautiful home with beautiful views. It was so hard to pull myself off of that dock!

One of a kind, private horse ranch, beautiful gardens and outdoor dinning, on the river. Sorrounded by horses and counrty atmosphere. Plus really good people!!
Country horse ranch surrounded by a river, a creek, a railway and nature. Some chickens an old cat and a big dog :) We do our best to make sure you have a nice stay.
  • Alessa and Rob's horse ranch is amazing. We appreciated the all the beautiful work they have done on their ranch over the years. Enjoyed being outside and enjoying their gorgeous patio rock wall enclosure. So artistic and comfortable. The view of the river and listening to the romantic sound of the trains was pure joy. Alessa and Rob are a great couple and incredible cooks. We also enjoyed Alessa's organic vegetables and fruits from her gardens. Thank you Alessa and Rob for an amazing weekend. Dannie and Pete

  • We were greeted by our hosts as soon as we drove onto the property so we didn't have to search for where our accommodations were. The cozy apartment was ready for us, very welcoming. The coffee, breakfast, and snack availability was clearly set forth. The hand-made, cooked on the grill breakfasts were VERY good! We also were invited to wander the entire property and to enjoy the riverside.

  • Alessa and Rob are super nice people and the room is clean and adequate in size, with a kitchenette. However, I left after the first night because I am very noise sensitive and it is close to the railroad tracks. They were very understanding and even found another place for me to stay.

Purchased/completely remodeled the end of 2016. We have created this great piece of coastal elegance. It is one of a kind floating home on the Columbia River/Fishers Island. Nice calm place to take your paddle board, jet skis, boat, kayak, canoe, swim... You can pull up & park your boat right outside your door during your stay. Yet, you don't need a boat here- it's one of the best places to fish right off the private dock. Great year around sunrises & sunsets!!! Sleeps 8! 50 min to Portland.

My apartment is ideal for couples with two children and business travelers who want separate rooms. It has a fully equipped utility kitchen, two bedrooms and a bathroom with a vanity. It has a sitting/dining area, and a laundry/storage room. The apartment has its own entrance, parking spaces and overlooks secluded woods at the back. The house is close to town, shops, amenities and five minutes from I5. Guests from all backgrounds are very welcome. The apartment is ideal for long-term stays.
Guests are entirely independent and private in the space but can socialize as much as they wish. The kitchen is ideal for most things but for more elaborate cooking there is a much larger kitchen on the main floor of the house. The downstairs has it's own private entrance or can be accessed through the house if necessary. The neighborhood is very quiet, and safety is not an issue here, the location couldn't be any more convenient for shops and amenities.
  • Ms. Ann was a perfect host. Very sweet and thoughtful. She made sure we was comfortable and able to sleep. We work nights and sleep in the day. She was very sweet and made sure we was not disturb. The house is very charming. Very quiet neighborhood. Close to town. Seen deer, fat squirrels, pretty birds! So nice to sit on the porch and enjoy the rest. Thank you Ms.Ann for everything. Hope to see you again soon! Debra

  • Ann's apartment is absolutely perfect. My daughter and I stayed 11 nights, and this was our last vacation before she goes off to college next year. Longview was a prime location for us. We visited a college, spent a couple of days in Portland, another two in Seattle, and one very delightful day at Cannon Beach. We could have done so much more in the area had we made the choice for a different pace. Instead, my daughter and I enjoyed staying "home" in Ann's apartment for a couple of days. We had brought a puzzle to work on along with several books, and we were able to settle in so completely. The apartment is advertised as cozy, yet my first impression upon seeing it firsthand was that of permeating sunlight and a lovely view of endless shades of green. Upon leaving however, cozy is the first word to come to mind. I've concluded that the good beds, the quality bedding, the green surroundings of nature, and the quietness of the neighborhood all contributed to a desire to simply snuggle up in bed or sit on the deck in the morning with a cup of tea. Ann allowed my daughter and me to determine our level of interaction with her. While my daughter stayed in the apartment one evening, I enjoyed a dinner with Ann that was absolutely delicious. On our last day with Ann I was not looking forward to the long flight back to South Carolina. One final time, Ann demonstrated an excellence in hospitality. Not only did we share some tea together, but she also served me a bowl full of comfort food. That my daughter and I were able to stay in Ann's apartment in Longview is something for which I am extremely grateful. As a single mother, my daughter and I have taken but a few big vacations. This trip was a splurge, counted among others in single digits. I could not have hoped for more. I simply cannot believe that, had we stayed anywhere else, my daughter and I would have had a more contented experience. We were so comfortable with each other there for a multitude of reasons. Ann offered easy interaction, and the true coziness of the apartment set for my daughter and me a pleasant mood, an unhurried pace, quality sleep, sunlight, and a desire to delay our return home. Thank you, Ann, for offering such a wonderful home away from home.

  • Ann is a wonderfully interesting lady! Lots of laughs, a great host, a beautiful home in a spectacular neighborhood. A great long term place to stay or an awesome short time get away. The price is far below the value of the place you get. Its a 5 star place for a 2 star price!

  • Ann's home is a beautiful house in the woodsier area of Longview! Up on the hill close to town, you can expect a very peaceful stay and even see some deer in the morning!! She has great recommendations for the town, and has everything you need in the apartment! She is very effective in communicating and I loved having her as my host!

    Neil2017-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay with Calvin was exactly what we needed to unwind during our move to Oregon. His apartment is exactly as described and had everything we needed. It was clean and the king sized bed was very cozy. We enjoyed walking over to the store for Calvin's home cooking and my youngest son became a Nanaimo bar addict and is waiting impatiently for the recipe. Calvin was the perfect host, there when we needed anything but also gave us our privacy. We also were pleasantly surprised with the nightly visits from the local deer.

  • What a wonderful country get away! I enjoyed my time there....the sauna was nice!

  • Calvins place was so comfortable and quaint! We felt so welcomed from the start and Calvin was extremely friendly and offered great suggestions to where to travel next! Plus his store had just what we needed before camping in Olympic! Thanks Calvin!!

    Gordon2017-04-08T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay at Calvin's rustic getaway. It was an adventure to find it but once there it was delightful. Calvin is friendly and helpful and a good communicator. His apartment is just as described and had everything necessary and more. You won't be disappointed if you book with Calvin.

    Terry2017-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • I'll be honest, I was sorely tempted not to write a review. I had to wrestle down the selfish impulse to keep Calvin place a secret so that I would be available. But that wouldn't be fair to my hospitable host. All I needed was a safe place to park, a clean place to sleep and a hot shower. I got that and so much more. The pictures don't do it justice. Calvin's place has all the quirky artistic/eclectic charm of a McMenamins but none of the snobbery. A full kitchen (with ice in the freezer), a private bathroom and a private entrance, off-street parking (right out the door), huge TV with satellite (which, for me, meant tons of great music to choose from) books, DVDs, big recliner, a desk and chair, a rocker with a back massage machine, lots of big, fluffy towels and extra blankets...there was even a sauna! I enjoyed meeting Calvin, however briefly. He's an intelligent man with a sparkling sense of whimsy. I didn't have much opportunity to visit with him as he had to be away attending to personal business. But he was readily available via text and had a neighbor on "stand by" in case I needed anything. And Gringa, the cat, made sure I didn't get lonely. (She's quite a storyteller, that one!) It was easily the most restful AirBnB experience I've had to date and I didn't want to leave.

  • The apartment was beautiful, in a nice neighborhood, spacious, well appointed, and well stocked. We loved staying here for a couple of days while we visited Mount st. Helens. The hosts treated us like family, made us feel welcome, and responded to any questions very promptly. We wished we could stay longer. It was a home away from home.

The G-Force Cabin Cruiser is a respite get away near Kalama, WA. When in the Marina, guests are close to a beautiful beach and park. Mount St. Helens (25 minutes), PDX Airport (40 minutes), Vancouver WA (30 minutes). This boat is owned by G-Force Business Acceleration as an offsite retreat center for clients and friends of our business. Our boats were purchased to help friends get away to clear their mind and to re-focus their business and life.
  • I came for a private retreat and it was fantastic. Giancarlo was available and attentive, and also gave me the privacy and solitude I wanted. A perfect location for a quiet weekend of R&R.

    Erin2017-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • Neat unique experience to sleep in the boat, feel it sway slightly at times. Giancarlo was a very welcoming host. Conveniently located right off the highway, many boats docked right there in the covered marina to look at if you are a boat lover, and a park and small fishing/swimming beach on the river nearby.

    Amy2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • If you're looking for something different than your run-of-the-mill Airbnb, this is the place. Tucked away on mighty Columbia River floats this cozy little ship. Perfect for a private retreat, a weekend getaway or just hanging out by the water, you're sure to feel relaxed and inspired by the time you check out. I will be back.

  • The boat life was quite an experience and super fun. It was incredibly clean actually, cleaner than my own room lol. There were all the essentials you'd need for a decent living (well-equipped kitchen etc.). My gf hestitated about the shower situation but after she tried it, she said it was absolutely fine. You'd be surprised by how little you'll need for a happy life. Giancarlo was very helpful and don't you worry about any questions you may have! The location was pretty good if you wanna stop between Portland and Mt. St. Helens. Nice park/beach around the marina. Thanks Giancarlo for such an incredible experience!!

    Jonathon2017-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • Giancarlo was an excellent host. He provided detailed instructions. The boat was well-stocked with kitchen necessities. The boat cabin was clean, homey and comfortable. It was an all-around great experience.

    Jenny2017-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • If your looking for a quiet spot to clear your head this is it. It's a well kept Marina, the folks are really nice and the walk along the river is soothing. A Sunset you wont regret. The boat has all you need to relax, cook or if you would like to walk into town it's an 8 minute walk. They have 2 great restaraunts, one is The Lady Dragon, great Chinese food for a great price and huge portions. The other is Costa Azul which was pretty great Mexican food. There is also a little Market that has everything you need in town. Giancarlo is a great host and person whom is available for any questions or concerns you may have. I hope to one day live aboard a bigger houseboat but this experiance was priceless. Thank you

  • Loved the novelty of sleeping on a boat. We did this as a family (couple with 3 boys). Boys can sleep anywhere so made it work. Host was cool and was determined to make sure our stay was a success. I definitely would recommend to adventurous families looking for a unique and interesting getaway.

She was very communicative, and although she wasn't close by the whole time she made sure she had a neighbor nearby to answer any questions we might have and come take care of the hot tub from time to time. Would definitely recommend, and will stay again if we are ever in the area.

  • This is a great apartment/home on a spacious river with garden property close to I-5 and not a far drive from Portland and Seattle. The home had a comfortable bed, clean bathroom, cozy living room, and good spaces for eating and cooking. We were welcomed by 2 friendly doggies who came to say hello and make sure we were getting tucked in at night. It made our trip up to Mount Rainier simpler because it was on the way. This airbnb had great access to water for small boating or fishing-- we wish we'd been there longer and borrowed a kayak from the host!

  • Edith's quaint guest home is *right on the river*, which is absolutely beautiful and the perfect spot for a peaceful, secluded weekend. The rental unit is an entire guest house with a private bedroom, living room w/ couches, and full bathroom, kitchen, dining room. There's even a garage just for guest parking! My wife and I (and our little pups!) really enjoyed ourselves, and would absolutely stay here again if we're near Portland/Vancouver.

  • We enjoyed our stay in the cottage. We liked the setting and the quietness. The high ceilings in the cottage are nice. Everything in the cottage works well (including the internet connection) and directly walking into the cottage from the garage works well with the snow. Edith and Ernesto accommodated our needs and ensured that our stay was pleasant.

Our cozy little cabin is on Silver Lake, not far off of Spirit Lake Highway, on the way up to Mt. St. Helens. It is a mixture of rustic, starting its life as a very simple fishing cabin, and dash of luxury, having been recently remodeled. The view from the front porch is lovely looking across the road to the lake. Spend your days hiking, exploring the mountain or the quaint towns of Toutle and Castle Rock, fishing on the premier bass fishing lake in the Pacific Northwest.
We added many fun unique aspects when we remodeled: a cozy pellet stove insert in the field stone fireplace for warmth (pellets provided), phosphorous in the hardwood floor which glows in the dark, a solid live-edge slab of Pacific Northwest Douglas Fir as the eating bar, sliding barn doors, a 1947 vintage electric stove, a reading cubby stocked with books, puzzles, games, movies, bathroom with a vintage buffet vanity covered in pennies with a glass vessel sink and a shower that includes copper slate tile, marble base and seat, frameless glass enclosure and four shower heads. The front porch is adorned with massive log posts for supports. We still have plans to add an outdoor kitchen and work on landscaping. Side note: We use our cabin ourselves and then rent it on AirBnB when we can. We do not operate multiple vacation home rentals as a business. We manage this ourselves on the side. We strive to make it a warm, clean, cozy space for our renters and continue to learn from our experiences and our renters.
There is plenty to do in the foothills of Mt. St. Helens: hiking, biking, fishing, boating, cross-country skiing and snow-shoeing... Exploring all of the wonders of the beautiful Pacific Northwest... I recommend looking through the website (URL HIDDEN) to get a good overview of the area. I have included more links below for other points of interest. The cabin is in a rural neighborhood that is a mixture of resort (not the fancy kind) and country living. Most of our neighbors live in their homes full time. We know all of the neighbors and have good relationships with them. They know that we are renting on AirBnB when we are not using the cabin and look out for the cabin and our renters. Being in a lightly populated forested area, it is important to remember that we share this area with lots of other creatures big and small (some very very small and annoying). Please be extra careful on your drive up keeping watch for deer especially at dawn and dusk. When we bought the cabin in July 2014, it came with a dog. Jake was an old yellow lab. He had an owner who lived a few blocks away but Jake preferred to live on his own terms. I always think of Frank Sinatra singing "I'll Do It My Way." Jake liked to hang on our front porch. He also spent a lot of time in the next door neighbor's house that we share our driveway with. He liked to sleep under the bushes of the house across the street too. Sometimes, he just slept in the middle of the street. Luckily, most of the neighbors knew to watch for him. Jake had cancer and we knew his time was limited. He was the Neighborhood Watch, often barking in the middle of the night to the dismay of those trying to sleep. We all tried to take care of him as much as he would let us. Next door neighbors were gifted an old love seat that they put in their house just for Jake so that he would have someplace warm and dry during the winter. We put an old dog bed on the front porch for him, but he usually preferred an old tarp that was on the ground. In August 2015, a woman visiting the neighborhood accidentally ran over him while backing out of a driveway. We all decided together that it was time and half-dozen neighbors went with him for his final ride taking his favorite blanket and toy. We held a memorial for him Memorial Day 2015 with about 20 neighbors showing up with potluck dishes. Jake was cremated and his ashes were sprinkled throughout the neighborhood. His picture is on our mantel along with a box that contains a small glass ornament made with some of his ashes. This is a neighborhood of good-hearted people... If you happen to see an old yellow lab jogging behind a car going past the cabin, that is Jake's sister who still lives up the road.
  • We just returned from the cabin and we really enjoyed the visit. It was an extremely stormy weekend so we weren't able to enjoy the local hiking so we especially enjoyed the vast selection of DVDs as we sat beside the cozy fire and listened to the rain. The kitchen had all the dishes and glassware we needed and I highly recommend you bring your groceries as there are few places to eat locally. Communication was great with Rebecca.

  • Diane and Jason are wonderful hosts. Jason greeted us with a tour of the schoolhouse and wonderful stories of the work they have done to create a unique and special experience. Diane has chickens and a great garden; we enjoyed quiche prepared with fresh eggs. We enjoyed a great night's sleep in the very comfortable bed. We will be going back!

  • Diane and Jason's home was perfect for my boyfriend and me. We stayed in the Lewis Room and shared a bathroom with two other people, which worked out well. The King bed in our room was incredibly comfortable (better than our bed at home). Jason made us a delicious and filling breakfast, full of grapes, yogurt, cheesy scrambled eggs, and toast with jelly. He served and prepared everything to order. There was coffee, tea, orange juice, and water to drink. They provided two quilts, two towels, and packaged soap. Diane and Jason also respected our privacy. I would definitely recommend this location for anyone traveling in the area.

  • Just left here on our way to Victoria. Lucky us we got upgraded to the suite which was fantastic. All of the rooms looked great but really it was the stories and the decor. There were so many things to see in this house. I can't begin to describe it all. The hosts , the place, and the food get a+. Thanks

  • While visiting Halloweentown in St. Helen, we found the 100 year old schoolhouse to be right up our alley for accommodations! The bed was sooo comfy, the art work and vintage trinkets lying around was fun and unique, they had a large and spacious living room and the kitchen was absolutely stunning! Our wonderful host, Diane and Jason go above and beyond in making sure our trip was memorable! They even help us find a place to watch the Seahawks game the next day! Thank you! Will definitely be returning!

  • My boyfriend and I couldn't have found a more perfect place to stay while visiting the Pacific Northwest for a wedding. While Diane was out of town, she was still incredibly helpful with any questions and logistics I had, and Jason was the perfect host. GET AWAY FROM IT ALL! This is a cozy, quiet home in a country setting located just 2 miles off I-5, 1 hour from Mt St. Helens, 1 1/2 hours from Mt Rainier or the beautiful Pacific Coast. There is a fenced yard, wood stove, fishing nearby on the Cowlitz River, walking trails, lots of wild life, beaver pond and beautiful trees and plant life to enjoy. Great spot to spend a few days or just stop over if you are traveling down I-5 between Seattle Wa. and Portland Or.
  • Merry was a perfect host and the property is exactly how it is listed. Very comfortable, clean, homey, and cute. My husband and I were only able to be there for a quick evening before moving on to our next destination so we didn't get to explore the beautiful property during the day, but if you are in this neck of the woods I would definitely recommend staying here!

You really feel welcome at this house - Merry is a wonderful host. Do take a look at the stars at Night if you get the chance. Thank you again Merry.

  • Merry was very welcoming and went out of her way to make our stay as inviting and comfortable as possible. She took special care to make sure our 2 year old wouldn't encounter anything dangerous. The home is quaint and well furnished. We used the laundry facilities and they were quite helpful. We would definitely stay here again in the future. There is a beaver pond not to far from the house that was fun to see. Great experience!

  • Nice place. Clean inside but lot of flies outside the house. Nearest grocery store is 10 miles away so make sure you stock up.

  • Excellent place to stay when you want to visit St. Helens and Mt. Rainier. If you arrive after sunset, notice that there is no street lights.

  • This was our # 1 Airbnb experience, staying with a Host. This lovely home ( Cabin) is located in St Helens which is about 50 mins from Oregon Down Town. The location does take a while to get and is very secluded. However once you get there its all worth it. The beautiful cabin is built of Cedar wood and is lovely and quaint , it is surrounded blueberry , black berry and many other interesting plants, there were even some sheep, chicken in Rashimi's little farm. We had so much fun staying here , exploring plants and enjoying the campfire after dinner. Our room was very comfortable , cosy and lovely. Best part of the stay was Rashimi cooking us delicious Indian dinner, breakfast and chai which we was unexpected. Glen and Rashimi , were super nice, great to talk to and hang out with. Next time we are in Oregon we will definitely stay here.

  • Such a peaceful and tranquil paradise! The house is like part of the forest that surrounds it. You are in a separate world of glowing acceptance. It feels remote, yet it's just 10 minutes from town. Rashmi welcomed me upon arrival, gave me a tour of the area, and made a lovely dinner. The private room and bath were clean and comfortable.
