“Cable wakeboarding is simply wakeboarding while being pulled not by a boat, but by an overhead cableski system. definitely the coolest addition to the distinguished list of action sports throughout the world, because it combines the best of the extreme nature of wakeboarding without the need for (or expense of) a boat. ”

“The Church on Palmer opened it's doors on 1st July 2001. Owned and operated by husband and wife team Diane and Stephen Grech, since its conception. Stephen being the Chef and Diane running the front of house, has insured a consistency in both the standard of food and the service, for which the Church has become known for. The food while being of high quality is not pretentious, and the service efficient but not in your face insures a relaxing dinning experience.”

““THE DISPENSARY” established in 2013 would not be out of place in downtown Manhattan, inner-city Melbourne, or the latest James Bond movie. This funky eclectic bar is the perfect complement to BURP.eat.drink as the place to be, pre and post dinner. It’s the Social Space to go with friends or work colleagues for a light bite and a drink in a relaxing and contemporary environment. With an extensive wine list, boutique beers, whiskies and cocktails THE DISPENSARY has all tastes covered.”

“Sails Sports Bar at the Mackay Marina, if you love live music and being outdoors, this place goes off for Sunday Sesh. Popular place amongst the yachties. Nice outdoor spot on the marina to enjoy the weather! I would avoid in rainy/bad weather.”

“You really can't go past Burp Eat Drink and The Dispensary. Best to book ahead. The owners are a long time Mackay local family and they have put their heart and soul into this place. Burp is modern Australian cuisine and right next door is the Dispensary bar which also serves a tapas style menu / cheese platters with premium drinks and a wine cellar to match. They have some quirky themed specials midweek.... Tuesday nights are “Roast + Red” Wednesday night “Paella + Pinot (this may change to Pinot and Pies) for $21 (don't get too excited it's only one glass) Best to check out their Facebook page / website to find out what is on whilst you are in town.”
