Cinéma
“This cinema is a must! Entrance prices are very reasonable and they open the bar before the movie starts and half way through the movie. You can sit with your beer or wine, whilst watching the film. Great place!”

Bicycle Store
“Cycle Penistone is open everyday. You can hire bikes then turn left or right onto the Trans Pennine Trail for a great day cycling. Cycle Penistone is great, if you need any repairs to your own bikes.”

“Penistone hosts good public transport by bus and train. The train station is in the centre of Penistone just 5 minutes walk to and from Lyndene. Trains run every hour to and from Barnsley, Huddersfield and Meadow Hall Shopping Centre. It's very easy to link trains from London or other areas in the UK, in order to get to Penistone.”

“If you like Indian food, Cinnamon Spice is great for dinning in or a take away. Their food is fresh and the service is good. We often have a take away on a Saturday night.”

“Great if you just fancy dropping in for a beer in a local bar. They are friendly and welcoming. They often show the sports events on the numerous TVs dotted around the pub. There is also a pool table at the back. ”

Parc
“The show ground is behind the TESCO. It has a state park and is also a large space where locals exercise their dogs. There is a little cafe nearby that serves a hearty breakfast. Also in the same area is Penistone Community Cycle hire where you can take out bikes by the day or hour. The show ground runs next to the Transpenine trail. On this trail you can head west towards Glossop/Manchester or east towards Grenoside/Wharncliffe. See separate guide. ”

Locality
“Penistone is a historic town and hosts a beautiful church and some individual Victorian shops. Walk on the Trans Pennine Trail and loop around Penistone. The Penistone Show is an annual agricultural show that draws in crowds from across the county. It is thought to be the biggest one-day show in Yorkshire and is held on the second Saturday in September. As well as ordinary agricultural categories for sheep, cows, goats, and chickens entries are received in horticulture, handicraft, show jumping, pigeons, dogs, photography and many more categories. People come from near and far for The Penistone Show. It's a great day out and well worth traveling for. ”
