Sandwicherie
“Pat's and Geno's are the two most recognizable spots to grab a cheesesteak for people outside of the city. People who live in the city, however, think of them as a bit of a tourist trap. If you must make the trip over and see for yourself, it's about a 10-minute walk. We'd recommend Pat's, as it's less of a spectacle than the neon monstrosity of Geno's”

Beer Garden
“German beer hall, lots of fun for groups. The Bavarian pretzel is good and the beers are even better.”

“Local Fave. So it’s a friendly competition between Pat’s steaks. Their stores literally face each other. So you have to buy a steak from each place and weigh in on this debate. Whose is the best ”

“Far away from the gaudy spectacle of Pat's and Geno's, Jim's offers a much more subdued experience. The cheesesteaks themselves stand out as the star here. Melissa recommends getting the fried onions and provolone, while Ed gets his with Cheese Whiz. ”

Restaurant français
“Imagine being transported to a French Brasserie, only to realize that you're just looking at Rittenhouse Square. Great people watching and excellent food, great for families and groups but equally romantic for a date night. Don't sleep on the bread basket and desert. ”

Bar
“The Sardine Bar is a very short walk away and is a great place to grab a drink or a bite, especially later at night. They've got a rotating cast of craft beers and some really creative sandwiches. When the weather is nice, we like to sit in their backyard for happy hour. The Sardine Ale and Kenzinger are our go-to for beers.”

Adresse pour Petit Déjeuner
“This place is a Philly staple! The food is amazing (particularly the Eggs Benedict and the Potato Latke), but you will wait for a while for a table. The wait is worth it! If you are headed here for brunch, pick up a bottle of champagne (or sparkling wine) on your way and order the fresh squeezed orange juice for some BOYB mimosas. Cash only, atm on site. ”

“Sabrina's is our absolute favorite breakfast restaurant. It is about a 10 minute walk, and there is always a line so go on their Yelp reservation app to add your name to the waitlist before you walk over. Their lunch and dinner is exceptional too. It is also a BYO so you can bring a bottle of sparkling for mimosas or wine for dinner. ”

Restaurant Américain
“Wear your beanie and flannel. Beware, heavy on the hipsters. Seems like a spot you would find in Williamsburg Brooklyn. The baked goods are some of the best you will find in the city. A prominent pastry chef does all the baking. Croissants, scones, and breakfast sandwiches are the way to go. Of course you can find plenty of kale, hemp milk, and quinoa if that's your thing.”
