Prague 10 : les meilleurs bars

Bar à cocktails
$$
“That’s the problem with drinking, I thought, as I poured myself a drink. If something bad happens you drink in an attempt to forget; if something good happens you drink in order to celebrate; and if nothing happens you drink to make something happen.“ And with that Bukowski quote from Women, you can see why there are always several bar flies buzzing around: what else is there to do in bar-situated Žižkov? Drink. You drink till the streets wind even more. You drink until people become interesting. Friday and Saturdays you’ll find yourself packed in, swimming in cocktails. ”

“One of the best beer bar in the area with the widest and most trendy selection of local and international beers. Want to try 10 beers in a row? No problem! Also, serve side dishes and hot wings. Cool place for hangout in the evening.”

“Smack dab in the gritty part of Žižkov, you will find this gem of a movie theater, which opened originally in 1933! It mainly focuses on independent, artsy films and each month shows around 35 different titles. They often host various film festivals and they even sponsor a short film contest every year. And the movies they play are only half of the experience: they have a fabulous bar (non-smoking until 21:00) and an outdoor seating area in the summer. If you get hungry, there is a fast food stand where you can get all sorts of Czech, greasy treats. This truly is the best movie theater in Prague! ”

Restaurant mexicain

“There have been quite a few Mexican restaurants to appear and then disappear in Prague over the years. The majority of them were serving up Czexican, nothing really worth letting linger on your palate. Frustrated by this the guys at the soon to be Las Adelitas started a delivery service that took off and then morphed into the much loved Las Adelitas restaurant. In short, you can find here the best Mexican food in the golden city. Apart from authenticity – it is owned and run by Mexicans – prices are quite reasonable with most dishes for about 200 czk. If you’re really looking for a deal, pop in for lunch at one of their three locations (one is right off of Old Town Square), where you can taste their specialties for a meager 100-120 czk. Don’t forget to have a margarita and chat up their friendly, yes Mexican, staff. ”

“Krymska street is local party zone and Cafe v lese is emblematic bar-club of this street. Except of this place you will find many others - some of them more fancy some more punky. If you like to see very local night life, highly recommended :)”

“Many people think that it’s easy to find a quality Czech restaurant with a good atmosphere in the capital. Unfortunately it’s not as easy as you’d think. That’s why U Vodoucha in Žižkov should be top on your list. Even though this traditional Czech restaurant is only a 5 minute ride tram ride from the tourist-frequented main train station, you’ll find this place packed predominantly with locals who know what’s good. With an impressive number of Czech microbrews on tap, a lunch menu with classic Czech dishes on offer everyday, and decor that makes you feel you’re hanging out in a village pub in the 1920s, U Vodoucha is the place to go to try traditional Czech cuisine and beer. And while you’re in the neighborhood, don’t forget a stop at the nearby Žižkov TV Tower where you can see David Černý´s babies up close and personal. ”

“Cheap beer (Gambrinus tank beer for only 24 Kč), chill atmosphere, and fairy lights – U Kurelů nails the combo for a comfortable space to hang out with friends after a long day. Sister organization of The Tavern, which is just around the corner, this restaurant has a warm feel, from the easy-listening music that plays overhead (Black Keys, Beatles, and the Shins to name a few) to its delicious burger selection (the bacon-cheddar will melt your heart). The menu is an eclectic mix of specialty nachos, burgers, and Vietnamese-style bahn mi baguettes. Most of their meat is smoked BBQ-style in their very own smoker. Tip: don’t pass on the disco fries. Plenty of seating, friendly staff, and, as the website enthusiastically points out, pooches are welcome. ”

“Incredible cocktails, a chill vibe, and a comfortable environment, Malkovich Bar is the perfect place to unwind with friends at the end of the day. Located in Žižkov, this offbeat bar welcomes a remarkably mixed crowd of locals, expats, students, and artists. Don’t be fooled by the gentle jazz and retro living room furniture though, Malkovich’s is a true cocktail bar offering an eclectic variety of drink options. Make sure to try a mixed drink off their daily menu, the Whiskey Sour and Dark and Stormy are both a can’t miss. With drink in hand you can sit back, relax, and enjoy the atmosphere and friendly staff.”
