“Lovely trail that is partly on a raised boardwalk through the swamps of Bayou Sauvage National Wildlife Refuge. There is one overlook I particularly like where you are out in the center of a sea of tall reeds with only the sound of the blackbirds to "disturb" you.”

“This park and recreation center is still in the works but has several aspects that are already in full swing. This includes tennis courts, indoor swimming pool, basketball courts, extra rooms for "rent", walking trail. So many diverse people use this park it is just invigorating. Even though some of the trails are secluded, they have security staff along those parts so you never feel unsafe. The young teenagers that hang out there for the basketball courts are as respectful as teenagers these days can be. Parents keep control of their own kids. People smile and have conversations along the trail. I think I saw someone fishing but I don't know if that is actually allowed. Some seniors”

“The sight of world-famous, 1815 "Battle of New Orleans", this sprawling, 143-acre park is the perfect place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Take a self-guided tour around the battlefield, picnic on the levee, admire the historic plantation house, or stroll through the lovely, well-kempt cemetery where many of our nation's heroes lie at rest. This is a serene, secluded place. Cyclists and joggers, find your peace here. Activities: Baratarian cannon crew artillery demonstrations 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. on Sundays October 28, December 9, and December 16. ”
