Basic take out food, like pizza, burgers, fish and chips. There is also a convenience store, which is a good place to stop on the way to or from the beach. You can also buy booze here.

Popular sushi place, very good food, small, may be a a lineup in the evenings, esp. Fri. and Sat. Reasonably priced and parking is easy on nearby side streets or even on Quinpool Rd at certain times of day.

My favourite museum, all about ships, including the Titanic. And the waterfront is a great place for a stroll. If you feel like going on a boat, there are harbour cruises, or the ferry to Dartmouth is just $2.50 (exact change needed), and ask for a transfer as it's good for the return trip within 2 hours.

The new Halifax Library is an amazing building in itself and has received accolades for the design. There are two Pavia coffee shop locations (1st and 5th floor). Great views from the roof off the 5th floor.
