Vegetarian restaurant at Ferry Road. Probably the most over- represented food on Instagram. Beautiful presentations, huge meals, great vibes. There is also one in Broadbeach where you may spot visiting American celebrities if you're lucky.

If you love white shutters, wooden floor boards, cottages and quaint, Bumbles is for you. Walking distance from the townhouse (across the bridge and turn left) - great coffee, great snacks, great ambience. Very busy for all the right reasons.

it's walking distance from the townhouse. Services great Japanese beer, reasonably priced food and you can usually get a seat. Not flash but the food makes up for it. Staffed I think by language students who do a great job. You will find it at the end of the arcade on Thomas Drive

I'm not much of a nightlife person but Broadbeach is the place to go for restaurants and late night hanging out. Recently upgraded and on the light rail. Also home to the Broadbeach Blues Festival.

If you have a car then Coolangatta and Kirra are great plays for a drive. There is a whole different world three streets away from the airport. If you drive through Kirra you will reach the NSW border. There is a lookout and a great coffee shop. That whole part of the coast is picturesque with lots of quaint spots to hangout in.
