Outdoor Living
The Llano River is one of Texas' most beautiful waterways. It's sandy river bottom keeps the water filtered clean and provides a soft landing for an afternoon of fishing, tubing, kayaking and swimming. (No sharp river rocks cutting up your feet!) A popular fly fishing destination, the Llano River teems with trout, Guadalupe bass, largemouth bass, and more.

Dive Bars
While shopping on the square, you'll want to make a pit-stop into Joe's Bar for a cold beer and a game of pool (or shuffle board, or darts). Marvel at their immense collection of vintage beer cans or catch up on whatever ball game is on TV. They also serve great food and have live music on the weekends.

Only the wineries worth going to in the Texas Hill Country
1. The gorgeous grounds. Like draw droppingly gorgeous. You can walk up to one of the wine shacks to purchase a glass or bottle, find a picnic table under a tree, and play a yard game. It feels very Ivy League in a fun way.
2. Make a reservation for the tasting room and ask for a table outside if it’s a nice day. The food menu is adorable.

It's LAN-OH, not YAWN-OH
We know, the double-L to Y is the proper way to say it. Yawn-oh Estacado, absolutely. But the town of Llano is pronounced with a hard L. It just is.
