This is worth the drive. It is a breathtaking waterfall, and is right off of the highway, so easy access.
There are also MANY hikes along the Gorge that are wonderful and worth exploring. I HIGHLY recommend any hikes along the Gorge area!

There are so many WONDERFUL hikes along the Columbia River Gorge. Beautiful forests and waterfalls to be seen in most of the hikes. A must do if you like hiking!!

This is only a 75 minute drive, and a great city to explore on the coast. You can also drive south to Depoe Bay for some potential whale watching, or just enjoy the waves crashing on the rocky coastline.
