Oswald West State Park is located a few miles north of Manzanita. This is a great place and one of our favorite destinations. The short walk from the parking lots to the beach is beautiful (rain forest with bridges, rivers etc) and the beach is wonderful and protected from the wind. There are also hiking trails that start at this state park. The one that takes you south passes a suspension bridge and takes you all the way to the trailhead about a mile from our house. If you start by the house, go north on hwy 101 and you will see the trailhead sign about one mile from the house.

Large State Park on the south side of Manzanita. Offers trails, horseback riding, airstrip and camping ground. Fee for parking. Nice bike path from the town into the state park.

Beautiful spot especially during low tide. At low tide, you can walk around the mountain to see caves and the waterfalls.

Eat fresh crab and shucked oysters outdoors on paper plates while enjoying the gorgeous views of the Bay. Large beer selection. Located about 10-15 min drive south of our house. Kids can runaround and look at the crabs, boats etc while you relax.
