A locals favorite for food & drink. Right in downtown and by Caras Park where you can often find a market, festival or show taking place and you can watch the river surfers and kayakers on the Clark Fork River from the observation deck overlooking Brennan's Wave.

Beautiful area for a walk or a swim in the river. In the mid to late summer, the river can get pretty low, but is grate for kids wading and exploring. Across the Blue Mountain Road you can access an 18 hole frisbee golf course. The course is pretty hilly so be prepared for that.

Kids and Adults will love the Missoula Carousel. Each horse was carved and painted by the local community and holds a wonderful story. Grab the golden ring for a free ride and kids will enjoy playing at the Dragon's Hollow play structure right next door!

Come cool off at Missoula's Outdoor Waterpark. A lazy river, water slides and a play and rec pool are sure to keep everyone engaged. Open seasonally in the summer time. Google it to confirm hours that it's open to the public. Very reasonably priced.

If you are up for an easy day trip, the National Bison Range is a great choice. It's only about an hour away to the Visitor Center. Check out the enormous antler pile by the Visitor Center. There's a short drive open year around where you can view Bison, Proghorn Antelope, Elk,Bear, and a variety of other wildlife. There's a longer 2ish hour loop you can take which will take you through a variety of terrain with a greater chance to see wildlife and more spectacular views of the mighty Mission Mountains.

Take a day trip to a historic ghost town. This place is very well maintained and a very place to visit. You'll drive along the beautiful blackfoot river on your way and are bound to see several people flyfishing or floating the river. There is a small fee when you arrive and be sure to gas up in Bonner.

This is a great hike to a knob overlooking the city. The trailhead is only about 5-10 minutes from our house. It's a 3.6 mile loop trail that is moderately challenging due to the climb from the trailhead to the top of the nob overlooking the city.

Great launching point for a lot of things. Hiking, mountain biking, picnic Area along with Frisbee Golf Course in the summertime and groomed cross-country ski trails in the winter.

This is a great day trip to a beautiful Montana Lake. it's about 1 hr 45 min north of here. There's a 3 mile RT hike to a waterfall at the end of the lake and a nice swimming area on the lake as well.
