This is a fantastic place to grab a coffee or lunch in North Creek. Amazing deli sandwiches.
It's a bit further to drive (NorthCreek is 25 minutes from Birchwood), but if you've been exploring and have a big appetite it's worth the drive.

This is in the process of becoming The Schroon Lake Department Store. The new owners have spent the winter doing extensive renovations and have worked exceptionally hard to be open for this season. The outside isn't finished and the inside is still in progress but it is a treasure trove of goodies. It is definitely worth a visit. We soon expect to see the original stained glass sign go back up across the frontage of the building declaring it's original name of "the Schroon Lake Department Store". We are all very excited and encourage you to support this wonderful small town business.

Schroon Lake Beach is right in the village, with a wide grassy area behind it with trees for shade, grass for games, and a playground for when the young ones need a break from the water. There are also bathrooms and a concession stand.

Donnelly Beach is a lovely family beach on a quiet lake (no motor boats), easy hiking trails to explore, space to play games, a concession stand and bathrooms. Life Guards are on duty from 10am -7pm.
