Every sunday this market has fresh food, hot food, coffee, sweets and local crafts. We to pretty often for our weekly shop and snacks. About a 20 minute walk from the flat along beautiful paths.

I go by here a bit too often. They make the most delicious artisan pizzas, as well as salads. Including dairy free and options. I usually stroll past and grab a slice or two (usually about £3 per slice).

Stunning galleries (there are two next door to each other). You can get to them by a romantic walk along the waters of Leith, which takes about 15 minutes from our flat.

Stunning building and great museum. You can rush through it in an hour but ideally you would spend about three hours there. Situated in the old town its wonderful to walk around the area too.

Stunning views of Edinburgh from this tiny wee hill. Its full of old monuments as a tribute to ancient Greece. 30 minutes is plenty of time to walk around the hill.

In the past the village was the centre of the milling of water mills and the remnants of the industry can still be seen today. Look out for mill stones and carved stone plaques with baked bread.

Bar, bistro, gastro pub. Very fun place with cocktails in teapots. Crisp pints, real ales, fresh juices, delicate loose leaf teas, cracking coffee, wonderful worldwide wines. Great food.

Head West towards the Edinburgh Galleries of Modern Art (about 15 minute walk) or East towards Stockbridge market (20 mins) or 90 mins towards Leith.
