The lake is a remnant of the ancient, massive glacial dammed lake, Lake Missoula of the era of the last interglacial. Flathead Lake is a natural lake along the mainline of the Flathead River.

Beautiful lake front restaurant and bar, can't beat this place after a day on the lake, they have boat and jetski parking! I believe they offer rentals as well if not there is one across the street!
