The American History museum was recently redone and they did a great job! See Kermit the Frog, the Ruby Slippers, Lincoln's top hat, the Star Spangled Banner and many more powerful exhibits.

Hands down, my absolute favorite museum in Washington. There is an entrance fee of around $20 but it is well worth it.
