Nearest Swimmable Beach
The beach is about two miles long and filled with restaurants, bars, and a variety of vendors.
Guests can rent jet skis, kayaks or stand up paddle boards; go flyboarding or parasailing; have a water taxi take you out to Land's End or Lover's Beach, or get dropped off at the marina. Or simply relax and soak up the sunshine.
The water is extremely calm here, and although there aren't any lifeguards in Cabo San Lucas, areas have been roped off for swimming. You can also take a water taxi to get an up close look at Land's End.
The best place is to park the beach is at 22°55'15.2"N 109°52'37.8"W (cut and paste into your mapping tool) and costs around 40 pesos for the entire day, which is about $2 USD.

This is a very nice grocery store (next to Home Depot) that offers everything you may need during your stay. There is a coffee/ice cream/smoothie bar, a large bakery, we well stocked deli, and all the essentials you could want. This is also a safe place to withdraw pesos from an ATM.

Only 4-5 minutes away from Casa Shio, this Costco has most of the items you would find in any other Costco in North America to include a gas station. You can even get your hot dog & drink combo (but with jalapenos)!
If you already have a Costco membership from your hometown, your card will work here, too.

Just meet at the dog training center on the east end of the marina (web search "the Hike"), dress for a hike/climb, and bring a little cash to tip your guide. It will be a unique experience for most!

Cabo Yacht Life Rentals
There are many yacht and boat rental companies in the area. We have used Cabo Yacht Life three times for our excursions and have not been disappointed. Whether you want to go snorkeling, swimming, whale-watching, or just sightsee, these guys can help you out. Go to their website for more information.

Pesos vs. Dollars
Most vendors will take US Dollars but you will get the most out of your money by using Pesos at places that cater to tourists. If you trust the vendor (like a mainstream hotel, restaurant, or store) you are better off using a credit card - you will get a better exchange rate and most banks offer fraud protection.

Rental Car vs. Taxi/Uber from the Airport
Casa Shio and Cabo San Lucas is about 40-50 minutes away from the San Jose del Cabo Airport.
The major rental car companies are at the airport. There are two routes to Cabo San Lucas from the airport - there is a toll road (appx $3-4 USD), which is the fastest or you can take the road through San Jose. The toll booth accepts US dollars.
There are also several taxi and shuttle services at the airport, but you will get the best rate if you pre-coordinate this before your arrival. Uber is available everywhere but at the airport.
