If you decide to duck into Geelong and walk the Barwon River trail, this place is hard to miss. You can park in their car park and then do an 8 or11 k loop up one side of the river and back the other, knowing there is a nice lunch or a cold glass of wine waiting for you.

There is a range of options at Oakdene, but we recommend the Manor House Wine Bar, particularly on a Sunday afternoon. Relaxed atmosphere, delicious Asian inspired tapas, and chilled live music. They have a courtesy bus $10 pp and will pick up or drop off in Barwon Heads. Oh…and the Wine Bar is 18+ only, so if you have kids or dogs with you, try the main restaurant area just near the cellar door instead.
