If I want a decent bagel, this is where i go. I love the whitefish salad, the potato latkes, and the oven meals in the freezer case that you can buy for a to-go. Expect a line on weekend mornings.

My second favorite barbecue place in town after Fox Bros. It's much closer to the house if you don't feel like going far. Call ahead and pick up your order. You have to get there early in the evening if you want the rib tips.

Really good soul food chain. Interesting fact: They have chitlins on the menu. I don't eat them out but if you're feeling adventurous, go for it. I eat everything else on the menu and it's delicious. Good stuff! See if they're still running the 2 for $27 dinner special. The portions are generous. The video on the website is very entertaining. Very easy to get to on surface streets from the house.

Short trip from the house. A great park for jogging and barbecuing. Zoo Atlanta is located inside the park and is one of the best zoos in the country. See the pandas. There are eateries within the zoo and nearby.

Additional trails wind through fields and forest, showcasing ferns, magnolias, wild azaleas and hardwoods. Park rangers lead informative hikes to these areas throughout the year.
